Tanjiro and Takeo went running into the demon prison. "Takeo, as much as I hate to do this, I think we should split up. Then we can actually learn practical," Tanjiro said with a frown on his face. "I know, we can stay just within hearing range and sight. But we can only help with life-threatening things," Takeo said. Tanjiro nodded. "Okay, let's go then!" He said.

This will only be told from the perspective of Tanjiro's journey, not Takeo's from this point forward unless I think it adds to the story.

Tanjiro stood in front of two demons. "Back off, he's mine!" One of the demons yelled. "But I saw him first!" The other yelled. Tanjiro got prepared. "Total Concentration Water Hinokami Kagura, Dancing Tide!" Tanjiro whispered. He used Hinokami Kagura, dance, and striking tide to pack a more powerful and faster attack, cleanly cutting off the two demons' heads. "May you rest in peace," Tanjiro whispered. He then continued running down. He landed in front of another three demons. They'd just finished killing someone. "More food! Let's get 'im!" One of the demons yelled. They all prepared themselves and jumped at him. Tanjiro took in a deep breath and shifted his sword. "Hinokami Kagura, Sixth Form, Solar Heat Haze, sixfold!" Tanjiro yelled. He used the attack six times. "Ha! He mi-" the demon was cut off when his head fell off of his head. The attack looked like it missed when in reality, it landed. His legs and head were detached from his body. The two demons were sliced to pieces in unison. They all turned to ashes. "May you rest in peace," Tanjiro whispered again. He noticed out of the corner of his eye Takeo use "Flowing Dance" to take out four demons that had surrounded him. Tanjiro then felt the ground shake and noticed several people running from a large demon. He saw Takeo rush someone along and then watched him get hit in the chest, only to not get help. Tanjiro's eyes widened. He took in a large breath of air and focussed his mind, feeling like time slowed around him. He opened his eyes, vapor seemingly coming out of his mouth. "Hinokami Kagura, Fake Rainbow Slashes!" Tanjiro yelled. He used fake rainbow to move faster and go in front of the hand going for Takeo before slicing it off. "Takeo! Get up!" Tanjiro yelled. He saw Takeo stir. "Now run! Stay in a tree and guard me against other demons!" Tanjiro yelled out as he turned his attention back to the demon that attacked Takeo.  The demon had hundreds of hands and was monologuing about how he ate so many people. "And I ate a small but agile one with a flow-print kimono. She was annoying to catch. There was the strongest one of you sent by Urokodaki. He had a large scar by the side of his mouth," The demon said. Tanjiro's eyes widened. The demon was talking about Makomo and Sabito.

"But how could he have killed the people that trained me?" Takeo asked. Tanjiro shook his head. "They were spirits. After all, they talked about how they always returned to Urokodaki. Let's avenge them by killing this demon!" Tanjiro yelled, giving confidence to his younger brother. "Remember, little brother, that you can walk through hell with a smile, but you need the confidence. That can only be built with effort. So don't back down, but fight with me!" Tanjiro said. Takeo's fear was replaced with something he didn't expect; courage. "Let's take him out!" Takeo yelled. Demons that outnumbered them thirty-eight to one surrounded the two. "Let's kill these two brats!" The giant demon yelled. "Hinokami Kagura, Tenth Form, Dragon Sun Halo Head Dance!" Tanjiro yelled. He attacked the giant demon, his senses working overtime. He started making repeated slashes at the demon, taking out all of the arms that were coming at him. He then jumped for the demon's head. "This is for Makomo and Sabito! Water breathing, twelfth form, Twin Dragons!" Tanjiro yelled angrily. He started swirling his sword and body around and making sudden and quick stabs and slashes, making it look like two water dragons were coming from his blade. He sliced away all the hands coming for him and sliced off the one that was going to hit him from behind and twisted his body, adding power to his strike and cutting off the demon's head cleanly. His nose suddenly picked up the smell of sadness and regret. "Hunger clouded your judgment, didn't it. I hope you rest in peace," Tanjiro said, kneeling next to the demon, who let out a tear of regret and happiness that someone cared before he gave a small smile and disappeared.

Tanjiro quickly rushed to help Takeo when he heard Takeo use a combination move to take them all out. "Water breathing, sixth and third form improved, Flowing Whirlpool!" Takeo yelled. I know what it's actually called, but typing that much out would be a pain in the ass. Takeo used the feet and leg motions of "Water breathing, third form, flowing dance," and the spinning of "Water breathing, sixth form, whirlpool," together to make a deadly combination of mobility and a hurricane of pure nichirin metal. The demons all died except for three, which were armed with steel hatchets. "Let's kill them!" The lead demon, who had two hatchets, spoke. They all charged Tanjiro and a fallen Takeo, who was too tired to perform another technique. "Total Concentration water breathing, first form, water surface slash!" Tanjiro yelled. He slashed and the demons all raised their hatchets. The demon on the far right, which was where the start of the slash was, dissolved into ashes. Tanjiro landed with a flip. "One down, two to go," Tanjiro said aloud. 'Hinokami Kagura, Flame Dance!' Tanjiro thought. He landed behind the demons and slashed the one on the left, as he couldn't react fast enough. The two landed, facing each other. They then engaged in a fierce exchange of blows. Tanjiro was struggling with landing a hit due to the fact that his opponent had two weapons and he only had one, meaning the demon could counter hits easier. Tanjiro increased the strength of his attacks, causing the demon to stumble with each hit. Tanjiro then twisted his entire body and used the momentum to slice through the demon's left hatchet and cut off his head. The demon slowly crumbled. "May you all rest in peace," Tanjiro said, talking to all the demons and the slayers killed.

Tanjiro and Takeo both walked out of the forest together. They walked up the mountain. "Only three others left? We started with over twenty," Tanjiro muttered. "Now that you're all done, here are your Kasugai Crows," The girl with white hair spoke. Suddenly, five crows and a sparrow came out. The fifth crow flew further out and the rest of the crows and the one sparrow landed on their respective owners. Suddenly, a loud flapping was heard. One of the birds was thrown off of a boy. "I want my nichirin! The sword!" He yelled. The girl sighed like she'd dealt with that before. "You will select the ore your nichirin will be made out of," The girl said. The boy grabbed her by the hair. "I WANT IT NOW!" He yelled like a spoiled brat. Before Takeo could, Tanjiro grabbed his wrist. "Let go, now," Tanjiro spoke, his voice hard and cold like he learned how to do to intimidate people. The boy felt killer intent oozing off of Tanjiro like a faucet. A boy with yellow hair shivered. He could hear the anger from the killer intent and it was constant and loud. "O-O-Or else what?" The boy asked. "I'll break your arm. Plain and simple," Tanjiro said. The boy smirked. There was no way someone could simply break an arm by squeezing. "I'd like to see you try!" He yelled cockily. Tanjiro sighed before his gaze hardened. He used a more strength-enhancing form of his breathing, snapping the wrist and forearm bones both respectively. The boy let go, grabbing his arm in pain. "AAAAHH!" He yelled out. A girl with a butterfly clip looked mildly impressed but kept her face still, showing no outward sign of reacting except for her eyes slightly widening. Tanjiro and Takeo walked up to the table, signaling for the other surviving participants to walk up. Tanjiro smelled one ore that seemed to call to him. Takeo felt a sense that one of them was the right one for him. The two grabbed their ores. So to those who don't know what Takeo's ability is, it's my own creation that I'll call "Sixth Sense, Intuition." You all should know spider senses, so think of it like that, but with an added bonus of being able to slow down his perception of time to let him do stuff like dodge attacks. He learns of this ability when he fought Sabito to cut off his mask. They walked away and watched as the other participants got their ores. They then turned and walked home, to Urokodaki.

Time Skip Twelve Hours

Tanjiro and Takeo were both panting heavily. "We killed all the demons too fast. We couldn't ask for a cure to Nezuko," Tanjiro said as they walked. "Damn, you're right!" Takeo exclaimed. The two started hiking up the mountain and made it to the top, where they saw something that made their eyes widen. Nezuko walked out of a door she kicked open. "NEZUKO!" Takeo and Tanjiro yelled before Takeo fell. Tanjiro caught him and Nezuko hugged them both. Suddenly, Urokodaki came and hugged all three of them. "You made it back alive!" He cried.
