"You look mad right now. Anyways thanks for today...but from now on, don't punch people because of me."
"Don't worry. I'm not mad at you. I'm just frustrated that all I can do is to punch their faces. I don't understand why does anyone and everyone is interested in your past.", he sighed.
"I never expected them to accept me. Coming from a middle class background I remained low so as to not grab their attention.", she spoke in a low tone.
"They were clearly making pranks on you yet you refused to meet the principal. Why?"
"Let's not extend things. And maybe you too need to stay a little away from me", her low tone continued.
"You don't need yo worry about me."
"Ab...about...what you said earlier might ire them. Why do you have to say that you'll be with me every single minute.
"I think uou should take your time.
"You must still be all shaken up. You should go inside." He continued, "Sophie! If something like this happens again I'll get involved without punching. That will be ok. Right?"
"If you keep on behaving like this I'm afraid I'll get wrong idea."
"About what?", he confusedly asked, a part of him knowing the answer.
"Just like.....how I'm feeling...you might ...never mind."
He nodded and spoke, "Get inside. It's getting colder. I'll come to pick you up in the morning as usual."
He left after assuring that the light of her bedroom was put on.
This is not the first time he felt empty inside after leaving her. The few minutes walk to his home takes a decade.
(His heart) What did she mean now? I'm a good friend of her...this is what she always says...her childhood friend. She is a good girl. And I don't want to ruin our relationship by doing anything silly. I want to be by her side. I want to care for her. I want to protect her. It is just because we are good friends...a friend who acted to be her boyfriend when her x-boyfriend came to her with his new gf...I am a friend to her who punches everyone who spits gibberish about her...I am a friend to her  who knows her mood every single time before she says...a friend who wants to protect her...protect her throughout his entire life. (His mind) Is it so? But why? Why?

Brushing off his thoughts, he put on his earphones and tuned into a  radio station randomly.

"Hey guys! This is RJ Muffin and you are tuning into 90.4 Radio Husstle. It's going to be 10 pm now and I'm sure, just like me, you're thinking of something you are confused about right now. Don't worry when your friend is here. Today I'm going to share with you something original...something true...something that you need to reflect...if not today...then someday maybe...Hahaha

Ok now let me be serious. Tell me something... What does a reason gives you? Is it so important? If you think so, check this out. It's a poem by an anonymous listener.

Finding a reason for every single thing is a foolish thing anyone could ever do.

With reasons, there comes excuses and instant results.

It's not wise to waste the journey from black hair to white hair in searching for a reason because deep down the memories will also evaporate.

Someday someone might make a guest appearance in the corner of your story
when you are too busy searching for a reason.

Hold it if you want to.

Keep it or search for your reasons to step back willingly...its up to you if you don't want to regret it later.

Try when you still can...otherwise you can pick it up after you drop it but its not going to be the same.

Perhaps someday you would know and understand that some feelings have no reason!" The rj stopped and consequently a song was played.

'A reason? Should I still look for a reason? Everything has a reason. But not always. Reason is necessary for clarity and logic...No...I don't think so. I don't need a reason to love the one I love, care for the one I care and protect the one whom I want to protect.', his inner self whispered.

With a sudden jolt he came back to his own self. Blinking his confused eyes, he realized that not long ago he left his original route unknowingly and now there he is....infront of Sophie's house.
"A reason? How can I be so silly?" , he huffed. He scrolled the contacts on his phone and put on a call. With a smile on his face he spoke, "Sophie! Can you come out for a while?"
