The third Maximoff

Chapter 24

"Okay, here we go. Time travel test number one. Scott, fire up the uhhh... the van thing." Hulk orders out, having arrived with the others a few hours ago to set up the test of time travel. You all stood in the large empty lab where Scott's van sat in front of you all. Bruce had returned to help in a Hulk form while Tony refused to help your situation.

"Breakers are set, emergency generators are on standby." Steve reported walking back in to where you stood beside your brother watching with interest.

"Good. 'Cause if we blow the grid, I don't wanna lose Tiny here in the 1950's." Bruce commented back leaving you all with worried looks at the idea.

"Excuse me?" Scott worries.

"He's kidding." Natasha promises. "You can't say things like that!" She silently scolds Bruce.

"Just... It was a bad joke." Bruce claimed while you shot him a glare.

"You were kidding, right?" Natasha whispered after Scott walked away towards his van.

"I have no idea. We're talking about time travel here. Either it's all a joke, or none of it is." He whispers back. "We're good! Get your helmet on, Scott. I'm gonna send you back a week, let you walk around for an hour, then bring you back in 10 seconds. Makes sense?" He gave Bruce a thumbs up in reply.

"Perfectly not confusing" Scott waved it off.

"Don't get into trouble, we won't be able to help you" Pietro added which prompted you to shove him in the ribs. "Ow!" He pushed you back while Natasha shook her head at you both, still acting childish like when you had first joined the team.

"Good luck, Scott. You got this." Steve told him.

"You're right. I do, Captain America." With that Scott was pulled into the quantum realm through the back of his van.

"On the count of three. 3... 2... 1!" Bruce presses button to bring back Scott but a child returns in his place.

"What?" You looked in shock.

"Uh, guys? This...this doesn't feel right." The teen commented.

"What is this?" Steve asked.

"What's going on?" Bruce questioned what had gone wrong.

"That...who is that?" Natasha asked prompting Bruce to press more buttons to fix the problem.

"Hold on." Bruce panics.

"Is that Scott?" Pietro looks confused.

"Yes, it's Scott!" Scott replied before he was pulled back into the quantum tunnel. "Ow! My back!" An old man version of Scott said.

"What is this?" Steve muttered.

"Can I get a little space here." Bruce sounded louder.

"Yeah yeah. Can you bring him back?" Steve moved over to join you off to the side.

"I'm working on it!" Bruce snapped, pressing more buttons. Watching worried Scott disappear only to reappear as a baby.

"It's a baby." Steve notes. Your eyes went wide with shock at the sight of a baby sitting on the floor.

"It's Scott." Bruce said.

"As a baby!"

"He'll grow."

"Bring Scott back!" Steve ordered.

"When I say kill the power, kill the power." Bruce waves to Natasha.

"Oh my god." She groaned walking off to do as told.

"And... Kill it!" She pulls the lever and Scott shows up normal again but clearly shaken up after the events moments prior.
