Todoroki POV

As soon as I felt the slicing pain in my arm, my eyes shot up to Midoriya. He was completely still, his eyes not off of my wound. Just like when he killed that woman. I'd be a liar if I said I wasn't scared.

Then I looked into his eyes. They were a bright ruby red. I started to shiver, but I looked closer. There were small green spots. A wave of relief washed over me. He was still there.

The tension grew until a woman came into the aisle.

"Oh my goodness! Are you ok? I'll help you get cleaned up." She ran over to me, helping me step away from the broken glass, then gave me a bandage. She helped me put it on, cleaning the wound. It took a good ten minutes for her to finish. Luckily, Midoriya didn't do anything. "Are you ok sir?" She was turned to Midoriya. I tensed up. His eyes were still on my arm. He wasn't listening to her.

I reached into my pocket as fast as I could, fumbling with my wallet. I pulled out five thousand yen. (About 55 dollars or 40 pounds)

I shoved it to the woman. "For what he's holding. Keep the change."

She looked confused, but held the money as I dragged Midoriya out of the store as fast as I could.

When we were outside, and out of sight of most people, I turned back to him. He was still in that trance.

I took the tub of blood and opened it, hoping the smell would snap him out of it. Luckily, it did.

He blinked his eyes a few times, then looked at the tub. I gave it to him, and he drank straight from it. It was a fairly large jug, maybe three quarts.

He kept drinking it. Blood was dripping from the corners of his mouth. He kept drinking, and it was empty fast.

He dropped the jug, then wrapped his arms around himself. He was crying, and for once, he had a good reason to.

I hugged him, despite the blood on his mouth staining my shirt. I loved him so much, I just wanted him to be happy. Why was this world so cruel? How could the world do this to him? What'd he ever do??

"It's ok now. You're ok," I said, trying to reassure him. I knew he didn't believe me, but it seemed to calm him down, so I was glad.

We were back at my house now, playing a board game in my room. I had bought multiple jugs of the blood for him. He needed to last until tomorrow after all.

As I moved one of my pieces, I saw Midoriya put a hand on his neck. Every hour he needed at least a pint of blood. Pig's blood anyways. It clearly didn't hold him off as long as human blood, though it works longer than the steak. Though he had gone two hours now.

"Hungry?" I asked aloud. He just nodded, not looking at me. He clearly still didn't want to accept it, so I tried being gentle about it. I stayed as calm as I could and helped him when he needed it.

I stood up, getting ready to grab him another pint of blood from the fridge. I walked but stopped at the doorway when I felt an arm wrap around my waist.

See, under normal circumstances, I would have been flustered. But these are not normal circumstances. I froze, not daring to move.

"Midoriya," I said slowly. I felt like he was pushing me away with one hand and pulling me closer with the other, leaving me still. I heard a whimper from him.

I knew I shouldn't have let him go two hours without eating. I could even tell the animal blood was becoming less and less effective as the day progressed. It was 10:00 now, we were planning on going to bed soon. He hadn't slept at all last night after all.

"Midoriya," I said a little louder. "Just hold on a little longer. We still have plenty more of... that... in the fridge."

He didn't move. Then he grabbed my arm. I winced, it was the arm I had cut. Then I realized why he was doing this.

My cut had opened up again, and it was bleeding. I didn't even noticed. How long had it been open?

"Y-your arm.." he said slowly. I stayed still. "I-it's been bleeding for the past half hour... It only started leaving the bandage now, but I could smell it... " He paused, taking a deep breath.

"Todoroki..." I risked turning my head slightly, so I could look at him. His face was twisted in the most pained expression I had ever seen him in. It broke my heart seeing him in such pain. His eyes were pinned to the ground, but then he looked up at my eyes. His lips were curled up, revealing his long white fangs. What worried me most was his eyes again. They were almost black, with the exception of a few red dots.

It took him a while before he spoke.
