it's kind of like an Omegaverse but the gender roles will only happen 'after' soulmates meet, dont get it? let me explain as uncomplicated as I can, yes there will be heats and ruts, yes there are pheromones, and yes there can be impregnation, but all these won't happen until after meeting your soulmate
if you met your soulmate during your childhood the changes in the body will happen during puberty at the age of 14
everyone WILL meet their soulmate in their lifetime
my Omegaverse is only slightly different but will affect the story
BOTTOM)- the 'Bottom' in the relationship will be affected most, after meeting their soulmates a womb will start forming in the bottom stomach area, males will have a 'shaft' start forming in their... lower... area, heats will happen once a month and will last for about a week, less if their Soulmate is with them during the heat. Other people can't help lessening the heat, only the persons Soulmate. 'Bottoms' will be in pain not having their soulmates near during the heat.

TOP - The 'Top' in this relationship will also have some minor changes, firstly they will go into rut when their Soulmate is in heat, they will both happen at the same time (Mother Nature's way of having people reproduce) the Top will have a huge urge to go to their soulmates to both reproduce and stop their soulmate from the pain of enduring a heat alone.
(The Top in the relationship will become an Alpha)
BOTH- both will feel extreme calmness when in each other's presence, the peacefulness pheromone is there but that can change depending on the Tops feelings
both will not be in their right mind during their rut/heat but will remember the events that accorded previously.
ANTISUPPRESENTS- they are used to help make heat/rut bearable while soulmates aren't near to help each other.
