I woke up the next day to my mom barging into my room once again. "Mom, what the hell?" I blurted out.

"Get up, get dressed. NOW!" she said and then she left. What a way to wake up.

I rolled out of bed and walked over to my dresser.

I pulled out a pair of light green and brown camouflage baggy pants with sequences in the shape of a flower on the side, which blended into the camouflage.

I then grabbed a dark green crop top that has been laying on my chair since yesterday.

I put my long dark brown hair in a messy ponytail with some loose curls hanging out.

I ran downstairs to see why mom woke me up in such a rush. She was sitting on the couch scrolling through her phone while drinking Starbucks. "Why am I up so early? It's only 1:00 pm" she laughed and told me to sit down next to her.

"Audrey...now that we moved, we get a fresh start. You should be out right now making friends. It's already 1:00 pm." I looked at her weirdly.

She usually lets me sleep in. Never cared for what time I woke up. "Your cutting into my beauty sleep you know?" she nodded. "Go to sleep earlier instead of 4 am every night then."

I huffed. She's right. "Well since you are so interested in my life now, I actually made a friend yesterday. I'm meeting her at 2:00."

Her smile widened, "Really? Oh good! What's her name?"

"Kiara Carrera"

"Carrera?" I nodded. Her smile slowly faded. "What is it? You and her mom had beef or something in high school?" I joked but she just kept her same expression.

"Please don't tell me you and her mom had beef in high school..." she shrugged.

"Not beef per se...we were best friends, but she started hanging around with a certain boy I happened to like. It was nothing though. it's not like she ended up with him."

"Well...there's no way I will ever let a boy get in the way of friendship." she rolled her eyes "You say that now." I laughed.

"Okay, you know what, I'm going to meet Kie a little early. I'll be back later."

"When is later?"

"Not sure...7:00?" she nodded. "Have fun. Love you."

When I got to The Wreck Kiara was sitting at an empty table scrolling through her phone. She looked up at me as I walked towards her. "Oh hey! Your early?"

"Yeah, my mom was acting weird this morning. Had to get away. You busy?" she shook her head no. "We can go meet the crew now, the boys are never really doing anything."

"Yeah sure. So 'the crew' is only boys?" she nodded "Yeah...hope it's not weird for you." she laughed. "No, it's just I never really been friends with a group, especially one with just boys."

"Don't worry, they're more like girlfriends than anything." I chuckled.

We wandered out of the restaurant and took her dad's car towards a small marsh with what looked like a boating house on it.

We walked up to the front door and just walked in. The place was pretty messy as if they just threw a party. Blue Ribbon beer cans were scattered everywhere, an ashtray on the coffee table, and clothes just tossed on most of the furniture with a few plates laying around.

I lightly stepped in "John B? JJ? Pope?" Kiara hollered. A pretty tall guy walked out from the hall. He had longish brown hair and just wore a pair of dark blue shorts, with an old blue bandanna tied around his neck.
