The atmosphere of the whole place is dreary but surprisingly not sad. Winds were blowing underneath my hair as if trying to lament with me.

I pursed my lips as I read the passage in front of me about a million times. I cried for the first few weeks, but now, I'm over it and I can't help but feel guilty for moving on this fast.

Maybe it's because I haven't spent that much time with her, we don't have that many memories with each other that's why there aren't that much to be sad about.

I placed the bouquet on the grave and said my silent prayers. I heard light footsteps coming towards me and I just smiled to meet them.

Bumaba agad ako para salubungin si Cristina at kargahin siya at sabay kaming lumapit sa kanyang mga magulang.

"When did you get here?" Yasmin asked.

"I just landed a while ago. Babalik din ako bukas dahil may trabaho pa." I flashed an apologetic smile.

I continued playing with Cristina while the couple paid their respects to Mom's grave.

It's her first death anniversary today that's why I needed to fly all the way here to Madrid. She had a heart attack last year; the sad part was that I wasn't there with her when it happened.

Yasmin said that she died peacefully, she didn't feel any pain but she was looking for me. I flew there the second I heard the news. I want to think that at least it happened after the time she has met me again.

I've spent two years with her since I found them. Pabalik balik ako noon sa Madrid just to spend time with them and to catch up all those years that they didn't have me. I'm just happy that she got to meet me again before she goes.

After one year of spending time with them, Yasmin finally agreed to my offer to buy them a new house here in Madrid so that they'll stop paying rent in the apartment.

It was a cozy comfortable house not far from where Ruben works, it's also spacious enough to have a yard for Cristina to play in. Mom and Yasmin's family were happy with it when they first saw it.

"Are there any changes here? I want to take a stroll," I encouraged Yasmin to go out with me or maybe just take Cristina to the park.

It's been months since I visited Madrid, I missed the culture, the people, the food, and the sites.

She giggled and just sat down in front of me. "Shouldn't you be resting? Ang haba nong nilipad mo, wala ka bang jet lag?"

I examined myself if I feel any jet lag but I can't feel if there's any. I shrugged my shoulders before I lay on the sofa to rest for a bit.

"This is my one-day vacation." I giggled and grabbed my phone which is still in airplane mode so that no one would disturb me. "So tell me what you want to do today."
