Dos
At the break of dawn ay nakabihis na ako at gising na gising. I physically can't contain my excitement to explore the city.
My black drawstring bucket bag is already packed with some snacks from the dining hall, my camera, and other essentials.
I removed everything that's blocking the door before I went outside, I looked around hoping to see people that are already up but I didn't see anyone. Maybe because of my excitement I ran across the hallway to the elevator, natawa na lang ako nang maabot ko 'yon.
I just stopped giggling when the elevator door opened revealing a hotelier inside with a trolley. I bit my lip but cannot suppress a smile.
"Good morning!" I cheerfully greeted before going in. He smiled back and pushed the G button for me. I just bowed at him as an appreciation.
It's still dark outside pero papasikat na ang sun. I started my little adventure just by walking down the streets of beautiful Athens.
"Aaaa!" I squealed when my eyes are being bombarded by the sights.
I don't even know where to go first. I know there are museums here and I'm planning to go there next when it opens, masyado pang maaga.
I acted as if I was in a music video - walking around the empty streets with colorful walls around me. Patingin tingin sa taas na animo'y may iniisip, putting my hands on my back acting all cute. Feel na feel ko na talaga 'yong pagmomodel sa gitna when a middle-aged woman called me out.
"Beautiful!" I heard her say. I stopped and smiled at her widely.
"Thank you! Good morning!"
She just waved her hand at me and continues to do her chores. I didn't realize that the sun is already up. I continued walking, letting my feet take me where they want to go.
Damn, my feet have great taste, I saw a lot of stone walls ahead of me, they look ancient. I walked around the area and then suddenly stopped as I realized that I was passing through a cemetery.
"Incroyable" I said in awe as I let my eyes roam around and found two old gentlemen standing in the middle of this place.
I cautiously approached them and politely asked them what this place is. They said it was the Kerameikos Cemetery. It gets its name because it used to be the potter's quarters and that is where the word ceramics comes from. He also said that this is the largest and most ancient cemetery in Athens.
I thanked them both and head my way.
I can feel my feet sting with all the walking. I walked some more to find any restaurants around.
My feet were pinned to the ground when I heard my ringtone. My whole body started getting chills when the caller ID introduced the caller.
"How did he get my number?" I whispered to myself.
