Chapter 8

It has been a a week since the Shimizu Case, there hasn't been many interesting cases this week. There also wasn't much happening in my personal life too. It only comprises of talking to Giyu, video calling Mitsuri, or just talking to her at work, cook, sleep, repeat. It has became kinda boring

The only thing interesting was seeing Giyu solve stuff. Of course I've solved some of them too, but Giyu is a genius. He used a machine we bought a few months ago, but none of us knew how to use it. He just was able to use it without a google search

"Hey Shinobu" I snap out of my trance, before smiling at Mitsuri "You haven't talked to me in a day, I'm guessing you've been busy" she gave me a smirk. I already knew what it meant

"I have been busy, living this boring week. Last week was so much more eventful" she looked at me dumbfounded, before smirking again "I don't care about that. I want to know what happening between you and Giyu. You two have been laughing and smiling all the time I've seen you two" I rolled my eyes, she wasn't wrong, Giyu has been more open and lively as of recent, but nothing has been happening

"We can't just be friends?" I asked while looking away "Of course you two can, whenever you are with a man, I don't tease after I see the two of you unless I didn't see a spark, a sign" she nudged my shoulders, "Nothing has been happening" she shrugged "If you say so"

"Finally an interesting case!" I said enthusiastically, "An arson case, seems pretty ordinary to me" I rolled my eyes "Let me be happy! I only get like two or three arson cases per year" he nods

We get our equipment before leaving to the cop car. This was the first time Giyu can finally drive again. The therapist thinks the recovery of Giyu was extremely fast and trusts him enough to do these types of stuff

"This was 2 weeks ago" Giyu said in confusion "That's because most arsonists return after 2 weeks, we already have the face and name, we just don't have the location, this is the easiest" he rolled his eyes "So we're just going to sit here for a few hours to wait for something that might never happen? I'll pass" I dragged his shoulder "C'mon~" he gives in after a few seconds

"We'll just set up a few cameras and sit at that shack, if we see her, we send it" I explained while he just puts both his hands to his head "This will be fun, we're just chilling, talking and shit" he nods

"Ok, this is actually boring as hell" he laughs "I told you, I just hope it pays off and I don't waste my time" he kicks a can from the ground

"Why did you come to Tokyo, instead of others cities?" He stands up and kicks it again "There was a free slot here for me, and because I know a person from here. She was also a great cop, great communicator, like you." I stayed silent, listening

"We had a joint mission to arrest terrorists, we finished the joint mission and became friends" I was still confused on why this was relevant, but I stayed silent and listened "She said when she dies, I had to go here at some point to take care of her sister, who was also a cop" It finally clicked

"You were friends with Kanae?" He laughed "Yep, that's why I went to your apartment, that why I went here, and that why you are my partner" we laughed and exchanged stories about Kanae, until we saw a girl at the CCTV

We out our guns to the girl "Hands where I can see them" she abliged at my order "Turn" when she turned she had a gun and started shooting. She started shooting at me until Giyu shot her at the leg and took her gun

"We have bulletproof vests, you don't" Giyu said before hand cuffing her and putting her at the car

"It didn't pay off" I laughed "I guess it kinda did" I referred to our conversation
