The Last Time (Lena Luthor x Reader AU)

Chaos Arising.

Days after your friends had decided together in your apartment, you were finally back on your feet and back at work back on CatCo.

"Everyone!"

Your boss, Andrea, called, gaining the attention of the entire office.

"Rumors have been spreading that Lex Luthor has escaped from prison. Now all authorities are on high alert, and I want all of you to do whatever you can to find more information about the matter."

Your boss said with a sharp tone in her voice.

Lex escaped; is that why Kara's not in the office today? You asked yourself.

Your mind immediately drifted off to Lena. Despite the painful breakup, you still care about her and worry that something terrible might happen to her.

"Y/n, Nia, Winn. In my office, now."

Andrea immediately called out to the three of you after addressing the whole floor.

"Hey, guys, do you know where Kara is?"

You ask as the three of you make your way towards your boss' office.

"No, we hadn't heard from her since yesterday when we all went to dinner."

Nia said.

"If the rumors of Lex breaking out of prison are true, then she's probably in the DEO with Alex, J'onn, and Brainy creating a plan to capture Lex once again."

Winn added after Nia.

"People..."

Andrea started, addressing the three of you.

"The reports of Lex Luthor escaping prison are no longer a rumor. Several news reports are already surfacing with evidence of Lex's recent move towards destruction. Y/n and Nia, you two are my top reporters alongside Kara, and she was the one who notified me about these rumors coming to life. I want the two of you to help Kara find more about this jailbreak and send me your reports immediately. Winn, use all your technical skills in helping Ms. Nal, and Ms. Y/l/n obtain all the information they need for their report. Supergirl needs more help in informing the public about Lex's evil plans."

Andrea ordered. The three of you immediately agreed, swiftly shuffling out of her office to start on the assignment.

"This is bad; Lena's in danger."

You say as you try your best not to overthink the situation, ultimately failing as you start to feel the anxiety grow.

"Let's not panic; Lena is a smart woman. She'll know how to protect herself from her stupid bald brother. For now, we just need to focus and find out if Kara and the rest need our help."

Nia says as she tries to calm you down.

"I say we just head over to the DEO. Andrea expects us to gather information about Lex's attacks. We definitely won't be able to collect any information if we just stay here in the office.

You and Nia nod, ultimately agreeing with Winn's suggestion.

"I don't understand. How was Lex able to invent a device that can control the minds of aliens in just a few short days?"

Kara asked, frustrated at the amount of chaos Lex had already done.

"Knowing my brother, he must've made numerous illegal transactions the second he escaped out of jail."

The youngest Luthor suggested.

"Based on the information from the attacks, I think I could make a device that could repel the effects of Lex's invention towards aliens."
