Chapter 2

Mina POV

Mark dropped a ring into my hand. I looked at him with confusion. "It's a friendship ring" he told me while showing his ring. I smile and put it on. It fit perfectly. After our free period, I head out to my next class. In my class, there was Jr. The guy I had a crush on. But I know he'll never notice me. As I sat down in my chair, Jr came up to me. "Did you lose this yesterday?" he said holding out a pencil that Mark gave me. "Oh? How did he know it was mines?" I thought and took the pencil. I thanked him and felt nervous. As Jr walked away, the bell ranged and class was starting. The entire time during class, I saw that Jr kept looking at me. Why was he looking at me? I brushed it off and headed out the door as class ended. I was walking to meet Mark as we walked home together. It was easy since we lived in the same neighborhood. Halfway there, I felt a grip on my arm. I stop and turn to see that it was Jr. I just stared at him and took his hand off. "There's a carnival and I wanted to know if you would come with me as a date? I've been noticing you lately." Jr said. We walked together towards the exit and before I left, I nodded and said yes. He smiled and walked away. I found Mark waiting for me. "What were you two talking about?" Mark said. I told him that Jr asked me on a date and that I was super happy since I liked Jr. "Ah, really." Mark said sadly. He walked on ahead and didn't wait for me. "Yah! Mark! Wait for me!" I said while running towards his side. As I reached him, he quickly smiled and patted my head. We said out goodbyes and went home. After completing my homework, I got ready to go to bed. It was a long day for me. I sighed, closed my eyes, and fell asleep.

Mark POV

When I got home, I went to my bedroom, finished my homework and prepared for bed. While laying down, I stared at the ceiling. I kept thinking of what Mina told me. That she had a date with Jr. How could she not see my feelings for her? "Aish!" I shouted while sitting up. I knew if I confessed, we wouldn't be friends anymore. I lay down and went to sleep. But all I could think of is Mina. Of our friendship. Soon, my eyes shut down and I fell asleep with Mina roaming my head.

Mina POV

I got up and begun my weekend. I headed out the door and went to the carnival with Jr. I was filled with different feelings and nervousness. When I arrive, I see Jr waiting for me. While walking up to him, all I noticed was his smile. I blushed and greeted him. We walked around for a few minutes and I started getting bored. Out of nowhere, Jr grabbed my hand and dragged me to a ride. "Let's ride this!" he said. I nodded and we both got on. After the ride, we sat down and talked. "Thank you for taking me" I said. Jr smiled and looked at me. I felt a rush of nervousness and turned my head down. After a couple minutes of silent staring, I saw a group of girls I recognized from school. They were walking this way. Why? "Jr! What are you doing?" said one of them. He turned around and stood up. "I told you to stop bothering me. We broke up 3 months ago Joy" he said. Jr took my hand and we walked away without looking back. He apologized and we both went home. I shook that off and walked home alone.
