Chapter 3

Mina POV

Me and Mark sat together during lunch and talked like usual. Out of no where, I saw the same group of girls that I saw at the carnival. "Yah! Stay away from Jr or else!" said the one that talked to Jr yesterday. I stayed quiet and looked down. The bell ranged and I got up and left. I entered the art class and sat down. Not soon after, Mark entered as well. He sat down next to me and we were silent for a moment. I placed my head down on the table facing the window. Mark followed my action and did the same. Now, our faces were looking at each other. His face that always looked nice. Soon, we both lifted our heads and stayed quiet. I got up and begun walking around the class. After a few minutes, Joy and her friends entered the class. "I'm not done talking to you!" she shouted angrily. Mark got up and told her to leave. "First Jr, now him? Wow. You're such a player!" she said while scoffing. All I can do is look down. After a few seconds of silent, Joy pushed me to the ground. "This isn't over. You can't have Jr!" she screamed. I jut sat on the ground silently. "You're not gonna talk huh?" Joy said and left.

Mark POV

After Joy left, I ran up to Mina and helped her up. "Are you okay?" I asked carefully. She nodded and I sighed. I stare at her beautiful face and hugged her. Soon after school ended, we walked home. It was quiet the entire time. Tomorrow was the last day of school. I enter my house and went to my room. I lay on my bed and thought of ways I can protect Mina from them. Since I was her only friend, I had to be careful. Night quickly came and I went to sleep. The next morning, I got ready for school. I headed out he door and looked for Mina. There she was. Walking alone. I ran to her and greeted her. She smiled a little and we continued to walk. "Mina, do you still talk to Jr?" I asked. She nodded and told me she had his number. When we arrived at school, we did whatever we wanted since it was the last day. Halfway through the day, I manage to make Mina happy again and she was herself again. We spent the day full of laughter. "Mark! The carnival is still around. Do you still wanna go?" Mina said while looking into my eyes. I nodded and patted her head softly. We walked around the school laughing and talking. In the corner of my eyes, I noticed Jr everywhere we went. He kept staring at her. I knew he liked her but that didn't matter to me. After school ended, me and Mina walked to the carnival.
