I had just moved into a new apartment after being in my old one for three years, I finally get to live in a decent neighborhood. I've been living in a terrible neighborhood, with shitty people and it was taking a huge toll on me. This is a quiet neighborhood and the crime rate here is little to none, I was excited to be happy and at peace. I was finishing moving the rest of my stuff in, when I realized I had a freakishly large and heavy box in my car. I tried picking it up but to no avail, I was about to give up.
"Need some help beautiful?" I heard a rough yet stern voice ask behind me. I turned to see a bulky 6 foot man, he was absolutely breathtaking. I couldn't helped but gawk at him, he waved his hand in front of my face snapping me out my thoughts. "Umm yes please this box is a bit heavier than I thought, your help would be very much appreciated." I explained, he chuckled and nodded picking up the box with ease.
"Where to M'lady?" He asked, I pointed up the stairs and he followed behind me. I got to the door and I heard him chuckled again, I looked at him confused. "Apparently we're neighborhood, I'm right across from you." He smiled, making me smile happily. I opened the door and he followed behind me putting the box down on the floor.
"I'm Joseph but you can call me Joe, if you hear Leati that's my name too I don't use it much." He extended his hand and I shook it, he kissed it softly making me blush. "Well Joe I'm Y/N and I'm your new neighbor, it's wonderful to meet you and thanks again for all your help." I said, he smiled again letting my hand go. "It's no problem at all beautiful, I look forward to seeing you a lot more." He said as he went out the door, I jogged after him.
"Can I bake you something? Just as a thank you for helping me today." I asked, he nodded happily. "I would love that, I'll see you then beautiful." He said going into his apartment, I smiled closing my door and locking it behind me. I managed to get my bedroom together to sleep for tonight. I drifted into a peaceful sleep, but not without dreaming of a certain neighbor that I just couldn't get out of my head.
That morning I made myself breakfast and baked a dozen chocolate chip cookies for Joe as a thank you gift for his help. I wrapped them neatly and knocked on his door, I was surprised when it opened to see a woman. She gave me a look, and looked at my hands. "You must be Jade's Girl Scout leader. I'll get her for you-" she started, I stopped her before she yelled. "Oh no I'm here for Joe, he helped me with something yesterday by any chance is he here?" I asked, I seen Joe come up behind her
"Hey Y/N I see you've met Alina, Alina meet Y/N our new neighbor I helped her move some stuff yesterday." He said, she gave me a dirty look shaking my hand. "It's lovely to meet you Y/N, well if you'll all excuse me I don't wanna be late for work. I'll see you later baby I'm gonna be working again later tonight I'll pick up something on the way home if I can." She said walking off, Joe shook his and focused his attention back to me.
"Are those the cookies I was promised? He asked raising a brow, I smiled handing them over. He opened the box digging in and groaning at the taste, he pulled me in for a tight bear hug. "I take it you like them." I asked in a deep breath, he chuckled letting me go. "Of course Y/N these are the best cookies I've ever had, not even my wife cooks this good." I frowned hearing that, he told me how he hand to take Jade to school and then go work out.
