CHAPTER 1: Katenaye
"And then what happened?" The princesses asked.
"You have to sleep!" said Shandara Palace's new queen (it was Princess Katharine, now she is the new queen)."Okay, fine," Kathryn said, "but when can we start at school again?"
Seven months earlier, they had just finished their last term in Grade 10, and now, waiting for grade 11. Their requirements for school were all ready.
"Yes, and we're super excited!" exclaimed Katelyn, who is always excited about fascinating things.
"Wait," the queen stated.
The princesses giggled.
"Does my sentence contain anything silly?" Katharine questioned.
"No, Mom, nothing. I'm just giggling." Katelyn replied with a laugh.
The queen then moved forward to tickle the four.
The four princesses were known as' Katenaye 'because' Kat stands for the beginning three letters of their first names. 'en' stands for the two last letters of their second name. And 'aye' represents the final three letters of their third name, which differs by only one letter. But no one knows what their full names are.
Katenaye was absolutely gorgeous.
Many boys came to present them with roses, but they didn't find the one among all of the boys. And Queen Katharine didn't mind if they were in love with someone. Instead, she used to tell them to find the one they truly loved and who would rule the kingdom with great wisdom and power.
They decided not to marry someone else because they didn't want people to know their full names.
They only said that they would marry when they were 25 years old.
"Why don't you find a boyfriend you can rely on and marry him? You are almost 17 years old, so." said the queen.
"Sorry, Queen Katharine," Kathleen said, "but at seventeen, we are still too young to marry someone."The next day was the anniversary of the burial of Shandara's old queen and king.
The Shandaraliers and the Royal Family of Queen Katharine and her husband, King Haris, visited the "Royal Cemetery," which was built during the old queen's reign (the old queen is the mother of Queen Katharine).
They brought flowers freshly picked from Shandara's garden.
A priest had been decided to bring by the Shandaraliers to pray for the old queen and king.
Many Shandaraliers were crying as they prayed, despite the fact that they had died many years before. The Princesses tried to comfort their mother, who was in tears. When the royal leaders died, King Haris, like Queen Katharine, was a child.
After they left, the palace was deafeningly quiet. Queen Katharine sat at her throne. The maids offered her drinks but she declined with a sad expression on her face.
The princesses were asked to go to their respective rooms.
The Princesses' rooms were right next to each other: Kathleen's, Kathryn's, Kateryn's, and Katelyn's.
Katelyn's room, however, was the most beautiful of the four. She was given a different room among them because she was the youngest, which she liked. Her room was painted a lovely pink color.
The other three each have their own lavender purple rooms, but they don't consider it as favoritism because that wasn't a thing the King and Queen would do.
They don't get angry easily because they've been taught and trained well since they were children.
But not only that! They were also taught the use of swords, bows, and crossbows!
They grew more beautiful and attractive as they grew older.
Shandaraliers, on the other hand, were very curious because they didn't always exit the palace. The queen was aware that they had a strange suspicion, but secrets would be revealed if anyone knew their second and third names. Only the Royal Family knew the secret, though, so it was still safe. And when the secrets are revealed...Well, that was a disaster.
"I'm very very happy that we're going back to school again!" said Katelyn.
"Yes, but we don't know when we can start." Kathleen, the oldest, spoke up.
Just then, Queen Katharine opened the door, saying, "Princesses, we decided that you can start school on Monday."
"Wh-... wha...-what?" exclaimed Kathryn, delighted.
"We will start after two days?"
"Yes," said the queen.
The Princesses jumped up and down with happiness! They practiced sword fighting for an hour after that. Kathleen had received special training from her father who proclaimed her as a "Sword Fighter" for Shandara. She was pleased as she swung the sword this way and that. Also, she owned a special blue sword.
Kathryn is beautiful in every way. She looked like Kathleen but was very very identical to Kateryn and Katelyn.
The four were friendly, and they were always with themselves. They talk about their daily lives as if they were friends, not princesses or siblings.
Kateryn resembles her father, King Haris. She was extremely skilled at aiming arrows with bows and crossbows.Katelyn was a bookworm, and she shared that hobby with Kateryn, and sometimes her other siblings. That's why she is excited to start again at school because she is smart.
But they all had a personal taste for the same thing. They liked everything about paper products and stationeries.
It all began with Princess Kathleen.
This is what happened. They went to one of Frostail's cities to buy items and stuff a few months ago. Then she noticed a store selling sticky notes, tapes, notebooks, ballpens, and other stationery items.
"Can we buy those, Queen Katharine?" she inquired, her gaze fixed on Queen Katharine.
"I'll buy anything for my princesses."
As an outcome, they purchased as many stationery items as they could.
Kathleen expressed appreciation to the Queen for having purchased them.
Then it was all.
They went inside the palace after their sword training today, and Kathryn suddenly remembered their secret names.
"Do you remember our names?" she asked suddenly and unexpectedly.
"It's better not to bring it up right now. Kathryn, there were a lot of palace guards."
Kathleen said quietly to her.
"Okay, sorry," Kathryn said.
"But now, let's go to the Princesses' Room and talk about how exciting Trizhna will be."
Kathleen stated the following.
They saw old pictures of King Demetrous and Queen Lavinia in the Princesses' Room."I wish we have saw them," Kathryn said as she looked at it.
"Yes, me too!" Kateryn insisted.
They talked about almost everything until it was dinner time.
They are led by the maids, who are carrying plates.
The princesses sat on the long edge of the dining table, while Queen Katharine and King Haris sat on the small edge.
"Saturday was today. As I said before, Monday will be your first day of school. You are informed that your uncle, Ian, the king's cousin, was the owner of Trizhna International School. We also found that your cousins, Trizhia and Trina, were studying there. You are also informed that they are Ian's daughters. Just remember to always do well with them at school and make as many friends as you can. Princesses Katenaye, I hope you understand." Queen Katharine elaborated.
"Of course, Queen Katharine." They exchanged words.
After dinner, they talked about Trizhia and Trina, who attended the same school as them.
What a lovely idea!
After they had finished talking, the king told them to go to bed for the next day.
That is exactly what they've done.
