The Swap

The full moon (part 2)

After our basketball game I went straight home. I ate and watched TV waiting for the moon to be in full sight.
I ran to my room and sat on my bed looking and the moon high in the sky.
Please oh please I want to be a girl again. Please, please, please
I lay down in my bed repeating my wish as I drifted off into a deep sleep.

My mom wakes me up the next morning, "Jovana wake up, you're gonna be late for school." I groan, "ugghh... Wait.." I get up suddenly feeling wide awake. "Mom, did you call me Jovana?"
She looks at me weirdly, "yes, Now hurry up and get ready."
I run to the restroom and look in the mirror. I see me... The girl me.
"yes! It worked!"
I get ready for school. Im excited to see everyone back to normal. I run into the school and bump onto someone. It's Sebastian, "Heyyy Jovana watch where you're going."
I laugh, "sorry"
I run to the front of the school and see Jessica and Keila. I run up to them, "Guys it worked!"
"What worked?",they asked confused.
Oh yeah, they forgot all about it....
I laugh, "haha nevermind"

After school Keila, Jessica, Layla, Gisela, Tania, Sahara, and I go out for ice-cream.
We sit in the corner booth and take turns going up for the ice-cream.
When I walked up to the cashier on my turn, this guy turned around and bumped into me.
"Sorry," he apologized and left to his seat. I ordered my cookies and cream ice-cream and sat back down with my friends.
As I was eating Layla nudged my ribbs, "Dude that guy has been staring at you this whole time."
I turned to see the guy I bumped into looking at me. I blushed because he was a pretty attractive guy. When we made eye contact he looked away. He was sitting with another guy that seemed to be his best friend.
I shook it off and went back to eating my ice-cream.
Later on I felt a tap on my shoulder. It was the guy I bumped into...
He smiled and handed me a napkin, "Hi, I'm Mark and I wanted to give you this."
I opened the napkin and saw a phone number written in it. On the bottom it said, We should talk sometime ;)
I looked up to see him walking out the door with his friend. My friends oohed and laughed saying that I have a new boyfriend.
I was too distracted to listen to the rest because I was having a case of Deja Vu.
I thought back and realized... Mark... Was actually Marissa.
Did the gender swap somehow happen to her or should I say, his school too?
Was he actually a boy or a girl?
I didn't know any of these answers but I decided to talk with Mark. Things went really well and we went out on many dates and made it official. He was my boyfriend. As for Shawn, well I still talked to him. He was still a friend I talked to and Mark didn't mind it.
Another weird thing is that Jessica got a boyfriend named Robert (Rebecca)and Keila got a boyfriend named Andy (Ashley)
It seems that our lives are now back in place.
I'm just gonna have to remember never to wish for something crazy ever again.
