Schlatt was sat quietly in the living room, it was three or four Pm and there was nothing but peace. The fireplace that stood in the room blazed quietly, the sound of birds in the forest, bookshelves coated in a thin layer of dust. There was just... calm. The ram had his eyes closed and was enjoying the warmth and calm of the room, something he was never able to enjoy. A soft thud was made next to Schlatts chair, making the mans ear twitch slightly; opening his eyes slightly and looking to the side he saw his son holding a large book in his hands, and Michael stood behind him. "Uh.. I know it's a stupid thing... but would you.." Schlatt sat up a bit more, tapping his lap as a sign for his son to sit down with Michael sitting on the fauns lap. "Okay... you want me to read it from the beginning?" Tubbo nodded with a soft smile, Michael headbutting him in excitement before wrapping himself in his little bee covered blanket. Schlatt smiled gently to his son and grandson before opening the book, holding it so that Michael could look at some of the pictures. Once the faun and piglin were comfortable, the ram began reading the large book.

Ranboo was in the kitchen, watching as his father-in-law read to his husband and son. The scene infront of him made his heart melt, Tubbos ear would flick and twitch every now and then as he slowly drifted off, Michael having already done so after two minutes. The tall enderman smiled to himself before looking at the clock that hung lazily on the wall, turning around and beginning to prepare a dinner for the crow family after noticing that half an hour had passed. Schlatt continued reading, ruffling his grandsons hair softly, the clattering of pans and crackling of the fire leaving a peaceful atmosphere as the ram read the book in his hands. Tubbo yawned softly as his father read out all the words in a powerful yet gentle voice. This.. this was the one thing Tubbo never had when he was a child, something that he always wanted... he smiled to his son that was now asleep in his arms. The fauns ears twitched as he heard the firewood being eaten away, his eyelids grew heavy and he yawned softly; the longer Schlatt read, the heavier his eyelids became.

As Schlatt finished the eighth chapter, he heard a snore coming from his left, looking down he saw that his son had fallen asleep. With a smile he silently closed the heavy book, placing it on the tea-table next to him before petting his sons hair before giving him a soft kiss on the forehead. "I'm sorry we never did this before... I was a shit dad. But you've done so much better than me, I am so proud of you." The ram said, grinning as his kid smiled in his sleep. Ranboo walked into the room and, upon seeing his husband and son asleep, sighed gently. Picking up Tubbo, the enderman smiled to his father-in-law and nodded as a way to say thank you, before carrying his husband up to their room. Schlatt smiled at his grandson, who snored very gently, before quietly drifting off to sleep himself.
