[ She's more capable than you think. ] What does Minx mean by that? Is she trying to insult me? If so, that was a very subtle insult. I relax lazily on the small couch. Speaking of Minx, where is she? I reach into my pockets, but pull out nothing. Oh.. I forgot. I don't have a fucking phone.

"Don't they look similar?" Y/N's voice echoes through the semi-empty hallway. "In any way- answer honestly, in any way?"

Paper shuffling could be heard before Minx spoke. "Yes, actually. You have a good point- they both have the same hairstyle and body structure. When you caught suspect 0192, how did they react?"

"Similar to the way this Clay guy reacted," Y/N taps her foot. "There's too much proof that it's overwhelmingly obvious. But it can't be this easy. There has to be some sort of twist coming."

Her companion groans. "Y/N, come on now. You got this in the bag! You've already gotten a handful of evidence and you have the culprit! You're fine!" I lean closer to the door.

Hesitantly, the woman sighs. "This was just too easy though. I knew from the very beginning."

"So?" Minx asked loudly. "That just proves how good you are at your job! I trust you, and now, you should learn to trust yourself."

Without answering, Y/N opens the door that I was leaning against. I caught myself before falling over, earning a strange look coming from both women. Chuckling nervously, I answer, "Hey.. so, as Minx was saying- trust yourself!"

Y/N rolls her eyes, ignoring my attempt at proving my nonexistent innocence. "Now is not the time to joke around, Nick. Sit back down on the couch, Minx and I have important things to accomplish."

"Ugh.." I whine while sitting back down. "How come I can't assist you? Can I please at least do that? I'm always just a shadow, following it's object."

"Are you saying shadows should have free will?" Y/N chuckles as she assembles a machine.

Out of embarrassment, I look away. "Yes, duh."

As Y/N was about to speak, a familiar looking young looking boy bursts through the door. "Wil! I got the papers you requested me to get a few hours ago!" The boy drops the box onto the couch and starts to look through it, completely ignoring the fact that he's in the wrong room with the wrong people. "I know we just finished our mini argument, but it's okay! I forgive you! Everyone has those days, I know I do!" He takes a handful of paper and places them in an organized fashion onto the couch, right next to his box.

"Hey, uh kid-" Y/N tried to talk to the boy but he didn't stop talking.

"You can stop calling me Kid now, Wil. Firstly, because I am technically not one according to the law and the second.." He pauses. "There is no second, but you get what I mean."
