4.| Spring Break

Gina's POV:

EJ has just left and Ash is confused what he was doing over so I talk to her and tel her everything he said and what happened. " YOU GUYS WERE ABOUT TO KISS!?" She says very loud and it sounded like she was excited. " YES. Now settle down I don't want you or me to get too excited about something that could've been a misunderstanding". "G, are you serious right now. He is for sure into you. And if you don't believe me, I can find out for you I've the break. Since the gone anyways it'll be fine" " I don't know about that. Let me think about it". So I thought about it and I decided that Ashlyn could ask EJ about his feelings towards me over the break. I do want closure but it's weird that Ashlyn is the one helping me out since she kinda in the middle of us both. But it's whatever. I have to go airport tomorrow and EJ offered to drop me off.

The Next Day:

EJ pulls up to the house and picks me up and starts driving me to the airport. It's silent until I say, " So, what are you 2 going to do over the break?" " Well G, I have no idea. Our parents are away on some retreat so we have the whole house to ourselves." He says. " Sounds fun. I wish I cold stay with you guys." " don't worry about it, you have to visit your mom anyways." He knows about me moving all the time. So that means he also knows how little I have been able to see my mom recently.
We pull up to my gate and as I'm about to get out EJ says, " Make sure you text me when you get on the plane and when you land ok?" " Yes dad" I say laughing. EJ laughs too. We say our goodbyes and we both go our separate ways for the break.

My flight got delayed for like the 3rd time today. I have no idea why so I decide to call EJ.
" Hey Eej" " Hey G what's up?" " My flight got delayed AGAIN. Now I'm stuck in the stupid airport" " Aw I'm sorry. Well to make you feel better Ashlyn wants to pain my nails and I need a second opinion". He needs to paint his nails so I say, " All the yes, go for it. But I'll need a picture when it's done for proof. Got it?" " Fine, but I'm going to regret this" I smile at him because just the thought of EJ with nails makes me feel some type of way.

I've been in the airport for HOURS and they just cancelled my flight which sucks. So i don't think I'll be able to go see my mom. I post on my Instagram story that my flight was cancelled and that I'll be taking an Uber home because I know all my friends will see it. I call the Uber and head down to the pick up zone. I'm not really paying attention until I hear someone say, " Have you seen a Duke sweatshirt anywhere" I look over and see EJ. I am shocked but also happy that he came to the airport for me. " What are you doing at the airport!" " Well, I saw that you were going to take an Uber home and I thought why not come here to pick you up instead" " Thank you so much" " Want me to bring you back in the morning?" " Actually, I'm going to stay here. I don't think I'll have enough time with my mom so I'll just stay". As I say that I can see that EJ has a smile painted on his face. Which makes me happy that he's happy I'm going to stay. " Well let's go I'll bring you back to Ash's"
We head out and he helps me with my luggage and we start driving back. " So EJ, let's see your nails" I say. I am so excited to see how they look on him. He shows me them and they look amazing. I never thought he would look that good with painted nails. "Wow EJ, they look amazing, you look amazing with painted nails" "Why thank you". The rest of the car ride we just have small talk and sing to a playlist he made.

When we finally get back to Ashlyn's, he helps me get everything out of the car and walks me to the front door. " Again, thank you so much for driving me to the airport and driving me home" "It's not a problem G, anything for you" he says while smiling. We were both leaning in when the front door opens and it's Ashlyn. We quickly move apart as to make sure she didn't see what we were about to do. " Hey Ash" " Hi Gina what are you doing here" " Well my flight got cancelled so EJ drove me back from the airport" " That's nice." " Well EJ, I better get some rest, see you tomorrow" " Yeah tomorrow" he says a little disappointed.
He leaves and Ashlyn immediately asks me all sorts of questions. " HE DROVE YOU HOME FROM THE AIRPORT?" " Yes he picked me up. He didn't even tell me he just showed up " SO HE SURPRISED YOU AT THE AIRPORT? Gina he's really going for you" " Well we were about to kiss but you opened the door right before we were" I say laughing because this happened last time we were going kiss. Ashlyn walked in. "So I ruined another one of your almost kisses. Great" we both laugh at the fact this happened twice.
