Rhea POV

We are outside the empire state building, moments away from Olympus and my possible doom.

Taking a breath Annabeth, Grover and I head inside the lobby.

I went up to the guard at the front desk and said, "Six hundredth floor."

"No such floor, kiddo."

"I need an audience with Zeus."

"Sorry?" he said.

"You heard me," I replied. This guy is being rude.

"No appointment, no audience, kiddo. Lord Zeus doesn't see anyone unannounced," he said and I raise my brow.

"I have it on good word that he wants to see me, especially since I have something he wants," I said, showing him the bolt in backpack. He looked like a fish flopping around to find his key card.

He handed it over and off we went to the 600th floor.

Mount Olympus is breathtakingly beautiful. It looked like I was walking into a magical dream.

Both Annabeth and Grover looked just as nervous as I felt. Zeus would be stupid enough to try to kill me, and the problem is that he would succeed. I'm just a half-blood. My father would be hurt for a while but the gods do get over loss quickly.

My first thought as I entered the ginormous room was that the gods are...huge. I knew they were huge, I've seen my father's true form, my uncle and aunt's, even Triton's, but this is just plain intimidating. No wonder this room is so big.

Everyone was quiet. Zeus had the biggest and boldest throne, my father sat next to him. I can see the family resemblance.

My safest option would be to greet my father first, "Greetings, father," I say formally with a bow.

To my left, Zeus spoke offended. "Should you not address the master of this house first, girl?"

"Relax brother, it's only right that she defers to her father," Poseidon's tone polite, but his eyes warn of the dangers of the sea. Zeus needs to tread lightly.

"Lord Zeus, it is an honour to meet you," I greet, and he huffs, like a child.

"You have brought me my bolt?" he asks.

"I have," I reply.

"How did you come into possession of this?" he boulders.

I gave him his bolt, told him the story of Luke giving me the shield and how I found it inside, and how I suspected Ares of taking Hades' helm of darkness.

"Hades lost his helm?" he asks incredulously.

"Yes he did," I reply.

"And you believe Ares had something to do with this?" he asks mockingly.

"Well he isn't here right now to tell us if he had done this or not, but I'm pretty sure he did this," I reply, pointing to the empty throne that resembles Ares' personality- Dark and stupid.

"Have some respect for a god, girl," Zeus says.

"Brother," My father stares at him, the way I know my father, his tone is warning him to back off.

It's insane to see Zeus deflating with the word "brother".

"I apologize Uncle Zeus, I meant no disrespect," I say.

"Rhea, go back to camp with your friends, you have delivered the lightning bolt, you are no longer needed here," my father commands, to which I bowed without much interest and reply,

"Yes father."

"I did not give permission for her to leave, I am the King of the gods, not you Poseidon," Zeus bellows like a raging bull.

Half of the room sighs, and I swear I hear someone say, 'here we go again.'

Both Poseidon and Zeus stand from their thrones facing each other, power fills the room. Grover and Annabeth looks like they're about to pass out.

The ground starts to shake, to which I grab onto Grover's arm and Annabeth grabs his other one.

A bright, warm light surrounds us with a summer breeze, blinded by a kaleidoscope of colours, when I open my eyes again, green surrounds the three of us and the smell of pine.

"We're back at camp," Annabeth sighs in disbelief.

"Guys, what just happened?" Grover asks.

"Uh, I'm not sure," I reply, stumped as much as they are.

Poseidon's POV

I hear Apollo in the background saying, "here we go again."

I rise as Zeus stands from his throne. He is getting on my nerves again. I'm ready to pummel him into the ground again when Apollo's power engulfs my daughter and her friends.

My eyes blaze in his direction, "What have you done?"

He rises his hand in surrender, "I sent them back to camp."

"Apollo! How dare you defy me?" Zeus boulders out.

"Father, you would have killed the half-bloods and the Satyr in your and Uncle P's rage. I sent them to safety," he replies.

"I don't care. You will never do that again," he bellows at Apollo.

"He will if he doesn't want me to kill you, Zeus," I hiss out, he is a terrible father, "And speaking of disobedient sons, Ares was caught with Hades' helm and has confessed to being the reason your weapon has been stolen. He is as arrogant and stupid as his father."

Zeus lunges at me and I laugh at his pathetic attempt as I side-step.

"Where is Ares? I want to speak to him. Now!" he demands.

"Tut, tut, little brother. Your son is preoccupied. Once I'm done with him, I'll send him to you. And do remind him as well that if he tries to harm my daughter or bring her into any danger through outside sources, then I will send him into Tartarus."

"Will you two please stop fighting?" Athena interrupts.

"Stay out of it Athena," I reprimand.

"Why would Ares do this?" she asks.

"Why would the god of war want to start a war?" I mock her.

"He has been complaining about the lack of wars these days," Demeter speaks up.

A/N: Sorry for not updating. So as some of you might have read that my father passed away a few months ago, I was grieving, and then everything started to get better and then worse. I lost a job, I was under stress, I got Covid, my family got covid, and then my mother passed away a few weeks ago because of it. It's been really hard and I'm struggling, but things will get better.

I started a Tiktok account to bring myself some laughter and distractions in this time. You can check me out under maryke.muller  if you want.

Thank you for your support guys. I appreciate it.
