"Hello?" I yell out in the darkness, "Who is there?"

There is a cloud of darkness surrounding me. There is laughter in the distance and then all of a sudden there is a hand curling around my neck,

"Did you think you think you would get away with this Ares?" a female voice whispers in my ear. The more I try to move, the less I can. I can't speak, except for a squeak passing my lips. I am paralyzed with fear.

I bring fear to the hearts of others, I'm not scared of anything, I shouldn't feel fear.

"Dear Nephew," a dark voice chuckles, I can't pinpoint where it's coming from. "Did you think you would get away with stealing my helm of darkness?" he says and steps into my line of sight.

How dare he?!

"Persephone, allow him to speak please. His face is starting to annoy me," Hades insisted.

With a sigh, Persephone loosened her grip on me and I didn't feel as paralyzed as before. I tried to turn around to hit this bitch as hard as I could, but still found myself immobile. The fear is overwhelming, and looking into my uncle's eyes, I can see why he is so feared.

"You bastard, how dare you attack me? I am Ares, the son of Zeus, and god of war," I spit out.

All of a sudden, Persephone's hand is tightening around my throat again. She tuts me, and says, "Brother Ares, take care on how you speak to my husband, I won't tolerate your rudeness here."

In a whirlwind of waves, Poseidon was standing next to Hades, looking murderous.

Poseidon walks towards me in a threatening manner, shit, I'm screwed.

"Do you know what I value in this immortal life Ares?" he asks rhetorically, "I value the life of my daughter, and you have jeopardized her life through your actions." He looks at Hades and Persephone walks to the two of them, leaving me facing all three of them. I still can't move.

"And do you know what I value Ares?" Hades asks in the same manner as Poseidon, "I value my Helm of darkness. And do you know what happens to the people who take my things?"

"Nothing, you can't do anything to me. Father's rules, remember?" I retort.

He and Poseidon made eye contact and started laughing, I can feel my anger boiling over and I can't do anything about it.

"Release me!"

"Nephew, where is my helm?" Hades asks calmly.

I spit in his face.

Poseidon POV

"Did he really just spit in your face?" I ask Hades.

"Kids these days, they have no respect for their elders," he retorts, appearing in front of Ares and smashing his face into the ground. Cracks fill the surface in every place Hades throws our nephew.

Hades puts one finger on his forehead and this cave is filled with screams.

"It will stop once he agrees to give us the helm," Persephone said.

"His voice has always been annoying, this is an improvement," I say, feeling vindictive.

It wasn't even a minute when the screams stopped and he handed Hades his helm.

"Now was that so hard?" Persephone says, speaking to him like he is a child.

"Release me, I've given you what you want," he pleads angrily. It's obvious he is still reeling from reliving his worst fears, especially with that shake in his voice.

"Do you really think we are done with you?" I ask him sweetly," You see Ares, you've messed up. I normally don't care about your mistakes, but you're the reason my daughter is in danger. You're the reason why Zeus nearly killed Rhea. She is mine. Do you understand?" I ask, lifting him up by his shirt.

"She is mine to love, she is mine to kill. Not yours, not my brothers'. You will not harm her. Do you understand?"

"Yes, uncle," he grits out. He looks pathetic.

My brother and I combine our powers, consuming Ares within it, the power of fear, death, and destruction. The little twerp is fighting us, he is holding back his screams but the moment Persephone stepped in, he was a quivering mess.

Persephone is not one to mess with, neither Hades nor I know the extent of her powers. She isn't just the flower goddess, she is so much more.

Hades looks even more in love with her in this moment, it's disgustingly beautiful. Little Rhea would swoon at the two of them if she had seen them now.

"My love, you are amazing," Hades breathes out, looking at the mess on the floor. The mess being Ares of course.

"So are you, husband," Persephone replies and leans in to kiss her.

Persephone then manipulated Ares' mind so that he could not speak a word of this session with anyone. He will remember all of it, and will think twice before he messes with us again. The truth will come out eventually, but no one will know the horrors that Ares had faced on this day.

Rhea POV

Annabeth, Grover and I woke up around the same time and I took them to meet my uncle and aunt. They still looked scared and neither of them could sleep well. The underworld has the effect on people- the place where the dead don't sleep, and the living never wants to sleep.

"Ah, niece of mine," Uncle Hades greets cheerily, he even has a hop in his step.

"Good morning Uncle, aunty" I greet in return.

"Is it morning? Hmm, yes it is, time flies when you're having fun," he replies.

I look at him sceptically, "And what fun did you have? You look like a wolf who ate too many sheep."

"Don't mind him, we had a good evening, that's all. Your father came to visit and we painted the town red," aunt Persephone replied with a wide grin.

"Wait, Lord Poseidon was here?" Annabeth asked shocked.

"Yes, after all of you left, we spoke about the information you had brought us," Persephone replies.

"But, aren't you supposed to hate each other," she asks. Annabeth don't be stupid.

"Why would you think that, you silly girl?" Uncle Hades asks.

"B..because it's part of history, all of you hate each other," she says.

Uncle Hades rolls his eyes and says, "There has been a general dislike, but as times change, so do we. It might take millennia to change but we still do."

Before Annabeth could say something I spoke up, "What can we do about your helm of darkness Uncle?"

"Don't worry about that Rhea, your father, aunt and I spoke to Ares and he has decided to graciously give it back to me. It's in my possession once again. All you have to do is give Zeus his bolt back. Which reminds me, I'm sending all of you to the Empire state building right...about," he says, snapping his fingers and I hear the word echo in my ears as we travel through the shadows, "now."

A/N: Hello ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for being so patient with me on waiting for an update. I've had so many requests to update that I knew it was now or never.

It's been a rough couple of months, stressful beyond belief and was still going through the grieving period with the loss of my father. My finances weren't so great either. But things are getting better. I don't think I've prayed so much as I did in this year.

Anyway, tell me what you think of this chapter. Until next time.
