Jimin breathed gently in Taehyung's lap. He closed his eyes and rested his head on Taehyung's shoulder, inhaling his familiar and comforting scent. Taehyung's fingers danced up and down his spine.

"You know... This is incredible news for the pack, Jimin. You're our savior."

"I don't know if I want to be, Tae. I'm selfish, I know.."

"No, no, it's completely understandable. You spent almost eighteen years believing you'd be a basic ass beta."

"I even thought I'd be an alpha for a while when I was fifteen," Jimin smiled.

Taehyung laughed at the thought.

"I remember. It feels crazy now. You're an omega Jimin. You're... Perfect like this."

Jimin hid his embarrassed face, hitting his forehead lightly on Taehyung's chest. Taehyung tentatively ran a hand through Jimin's hair, making him shiver.

"It suits you. You seem more...yourself than ever before."

Jimin tilted his head back to smile at Taehyung. His friend's words meant a lot to him.

"My Eomma found out only a few minutes before you arrived, Tae. You saved me from that conversation."

Taehyung laughed, his chest vibrating against Jimin. He placed a hand on Jimin's thigh. Jimin gulped as a wave of heat rushed through him.

"Jesus, Jimin, you're getting hotter." Jimin's eyes shot up to Taehyung's. "You better not give me this fever too."

Jimin couldn't reply. He was painfully aware of his friend's strong hands on him. How close their bodies were as Jimin straddled his lap... Jimin's blood was rushing anywhere but his brain.

Suddenly, the door flew open.

"Taehyung, you have to leave now," Jimin's mother said firmly.

Taehyung raised his eyebrows and sat up straighter.

"Wha- what? I do?"

"Taehyung," Jimin choked out. "I think you should leave too."

Taehyung looked at his friend in bewilderment. Jimin's pupils were insanely dilated and his face and neck blushed a furious red. He tore himself away from Taehyung.

"Please, go, Tae," he begged.

Taehyung obliged, confusion written across his face. Once he reached the front door, Jimin's mother pulled him back to speak to him.

"Yah, he's in heat you fool," she chastised him.

"What?!" Taehyung couldn't believe he hadn't realized.

"Yes, and you can't go near him for the next few days, okay? Because he's an omega now - oh goddess he's even the Luna - and you, well...,' she looked her best friend's son up and down, 'you're a man now, Taehyung."

Taehyung gave her a pleased smirk.

"I am, aren't I? I've changed, right?"

She batted at him, pushing him out the door.

"I'm an alpha, right?"

She paused and looked at the cheeky boy before her.

"No, not yet. No alpha would have missed the fact that the Luna was in heat."

With that, she slammed the door in his face.

---------------------------

Jimin didn't know what to expect for his first heat. He'd really only heard about alpha's ruts and hadn't ever given omega heats much thought. Fortunately, it wasn't as intense because he had only recently presented. He spent three days alone in his room, his mother leaving food and water outside the door for him. It's not hard to imagine what he did in there, on his own, in the height of his heat. He yearned for an alpha. The utter desperation took him by surprise. Perhaps it was more intense because there was a perfect alpha out there for him somewhere? Waiting for him. Just as desperate for him too? He passed the time researching Lunas, and wondering who exactly his alpha would be. Shouldn't it be Kim Namjoon? Or maybe Min Yoongi? Jimin thought of all the prominent alphas in his pack. None of them seemed to spark anything in him.
