Jimin's mother was fit to beat him when she smelled him the next morning.
"Why do you smell like an alpha, Jimin!? Who scented you?!"
He blushed as he explained that Taehyung had gone into his first rut last night.. And got a little carried away with his affection. Jimin's mother was relieved that it was Taehyung's scent and not any other random alpha, but she was a little suspicious. To be on the safe side, Jimin was banned from leaving the house until the scent went away. Taehyung's scent rested heavily in the air. It was coming from both Jimin and Taehyung, who was in the height of his rut right next door. It smelled good. Too good. Jimin couldn't stop thinking about what Taehyung had done to him on Friday night. Although he'd been drunk, the memory of his friend's lips on his neck was crystal clear. If it was driving him crazy, how must Taehyung be holding up? Taehyung proved to not be holding up very well. He had to be moved to his aunt's house, all the way on the other side of the territory. His parents told Jimin's parents that it was because it was improper to have an unmated alpha in a rut right by the unmated Luna. Although this was true, there was more to it than that. Taehyung knew there was a real, actual threat that he'd knock Jimin's house down and drag the poor omega off into the woods with him. Yes, it was best for him to go away.

Jimin knew something was off when he woke up completely naked, his nose thrusted into one of Taehyung's shirts he'd left behind. He definitely knew something was off when even the mention of Taehyung's name made him produce slick. Once his temperature began sky-rocketing he knew he was in heat, again, much to his horror.
"Hmm.. It can be very irregular at the start," his mother reassured him.
It meant that Jimin missed his own eighteenth birthday and it also meant that he could not see Taehyung even though his rut was over. An unmated alpha hanging out with the Luna when he's in heat? Unspeakable. This was why Taehyung started spending a lot of time outside the house. He'd come home from school and instantly head over to the courtyard outside the headquarters, looking for work to do. There was always work to do in the Evergreen pack. The leader had had his eyes on Taehyung for a while. The newly presented alpha showed potential, he believed. The leader began giving Taehyung jobs to do, much to the alpha's delight.

It was a normal Sunday when it all went down. The market was that morning and Jimin's family had left him at home, believing it was safe to leave him for a while. Jimin was still in heat but he hadn't left his room once so far. The day started off normally. He wolfed down his breakfast, threw on a pair of loose pants and Taehyung's t-shirt and began thinking about his friend. God, he missed him. He wanted to see him, no, he needed to see him. In a trance-like state, Jimin slowly got up and exited his room. There was no one there to stop him as he left the house. Barefoot, he began following his nose. He didn't even notice the few alphas that flocked to him, attracted by his thick heat-induced scent.
Jimin found himself in the courtyard by the headquarters. The bustling market was ahead of him. It seemed as though the whole pack were out shopping this morning. His eyes immediately landed on Taehyung. The alpha was helping an Ahjumma set up her market stall. Jimin drank in the sight of his muscular body. His body flooded with want, but also something warmer, something softer. He knew it was love. He felt overwhelmed with love for Taehyung. The feeling drove him forward. The alphas that were following Jimin drew back. Everyone Jimin walked past turned to look at him. They took note of his bare feet and the hazy look in his eyes and began to whisper to one another.
Taehyung smelled him before he saw him. He lifted his head and their eyes met. Fire burned through Jimin's veins and his feet moved faster. It had been days since they'd seen each other and oh god, Jimin couldn't be away from him a second longer. At this point, everyone in the market had turned to look at Jimin who seemed to be making his way towards... Is that Kim Taehyung?
Jimin stopped just short of Taehyung.
"Jimin..." Taehyung looked at the breath-taking omega before him.
The entire pack held their breath.
Then Jimin fell to his knees at Taehyung's feet and breathed out the words he longed to say.
"Alpha."
