Chapter 1 – Where we left off.

No one's POV

"What do you mean she's gone?" Beck hissed as he pushed past Tori and burst into the room. Flipping on the light he made a more in-depth visual inspection than he did from the doorway. As before, he noted that the bed had been made, curtains drawn and the room itself was tidy as could be. Looking into the trash basket, he could see it was empty.

Feeling overwhelmingly sad, Tori stepped into the room. "Beck. I'm sorry. She was here?"

Feeling his anger swelling inside him, Beck half turned towards Tori and scoffed. "Sure she was. Along with Sinjin and Burf too, I'll bet."

"Beck. She was here."

"BULLSHIT. She wasn't here, she never was here. It's bad enough that you destroyed my marriage, now you have to make up some story about her being pregnant and staying with you, just to fuck with me."

Feeling herself beginning to tremble, Tori pleaded. "Beck. It's not a story."

His face contorting with anger, Beck bellowed. "STOP LYING! YOU LIED WHEN YOU SLEPT WITH MY GIRLFREIND, YOU LIED WHEN YOU SLEPT WITH MY BRIDE TO BE AND YOU LIED WHEN YOU SLEPT WITH MY WIFE. I'M SICK OF THE LIES."

Tori could feel tears forming in her eyes. "I'm not lying. Beck. I was just trying to help."

"You already did!" Ranted a now furious Beck. "When you helped yourself to Jade. Now you decide to fuck with my head on top of that. Or is this some sort of game the two of you cooked up?"

"Beck Please. She was here." Cried Tori through her tears.

"STOP LYING!" Beck screamed, as his rage ran out of control.

An instant later, Beck felt something inside him snap. Giving into some primitive instinct, deep inside him, Beck backhanded Tori in the face. The blow which was with his right hand, was hard and stung painfully. In fact, the blow was so hard, Tori was knocked backwards.

But Tori's mind didn't have time to process the blow, as everything suddenly went black.

2 hours later Jade, who had been driving for hours, was just passing Indigo California. After three days in Tori's room, alone with her thoughts, feeling sick, she suddenly felt panic setting in. So, she decided to bolt. She had very mixed feelings about leaving Tori. Actually, all the feelings she had for Tori seemed to be that way. But some part of her, felt the need to at least thoroughly clean the room. She had rented a car and drove around randomly, hoping to clear her mind or at least calm the raging storm in her soul. All she knew, is that she needed to be somewhere else. First, she drove around the city a bit. Then she found herself on route 10 which runs east towards Phoenix. As she did, a line from a Springsteen song came to mind.

"Got a wife and Kids in Baltimore Jack, went out for a ride and never went back, like a river that don't know where it's flowing, I took a wrong turn and just kept going."

Just like the song Jade just kept going, further and further out into the desert. Traffic was light and it was a warm evening, so she opened the windows and let the wind blow through her hair. In years past, she liked that feeling, which felt like freedom in a way. Perhaps then, she could feel something other than pain, turmoil and despair. She had no idea where she'd end up. Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Jade didn't know.

Needing gas, she pulled into a truck stop dodging the semis that perpetually came in and out of the parking lot. As she reached the pumps, she looked over at her phone. She had turned it off, shortly after leaving Tori's.

Ignoring it, she went and filled the car with gas. Hopefully this'd get her all the way to Phoenix. As she got in, she looked at the phone again.

"Fuck it" She muttered as she turned on the phone. No doubt there would be some message from Tori, wondering where she was. That voice which never failed to turn her inside out. That same voice she could never resist. She both loved and Hated Tori because of it.

As the phone powered on, Jade noticed that there was no message or calls from Tori. That, in itself, gave her an odd, empty feeling. There was two voice mails and 1 texts. The first voice mail was from her agent, probably with a movie offer. The call log for the 2nd Voice mail said unknown. Probably, one of those scam ones where they tell you your car warranty is about to expire, she figured. The one text was from Cat.

That was a bit surprising as Cat hadn't spoken to her since that confrontation at Tori's. She guessed it was either some stupid shit about her brother or some other random thing she felt like babbling about.

She hit open on the text and the following lines displayed on the screen.

"Beck, in a fit of anger, struck Tori. She's in the hospital. Beck has been placed under arrest. Call me."

Her hands beginning to shake, Jade dropped the phone, as she suddenly felt like she'd be stabbed in the heart. All she could do, was do sink to her knees and scream.

Well, that's it for now. I hope you like my continuation of the story. More to come and of course, please review.
