Chapter 10

Weeks had passed and Ate Ann already accepted my proposal. The construction are already starting and guess what? We’re flying to Cebu! I giggled with the thought of seeing my friends there.

"Siguraduhin mo lang na papatok talaga ‘tong business natin doon Maria ha! Malalagot ka sa ‘kin talaga!"

I rolled my eyes. "Don’t overstressed with it ate. Take a chill pill."

"Umayos ka Maria!"

Napailing ako at natawa. "Ate don’t get too strict to yourself, why don't we have a vacation there? Since the constructions just starting, why don’t we enjoy our free days there? You know explore,"

She sighed. "If that’s what you want then okay." She shrugged.

"Baka kasi ro’n mo makita ang destined for you ate!"

"Shut up. Boys isn’t and will never be my priority anymore. Once is enough, twice and more is too much."

I close my mouth and look away. I wonder what happened, when her mother say’s she lost her baby, I got shock, of course it was a shocking moment. Siguro natuto na si ate sa una at ayaw niya nang pangalawa pa.

Kadalasan kasi kapag nasaktan na ang isang tao ay ayaw ng maulit pa. It freaking hurts to the depth that’s why once is already enough.

"Maria isama mo nga pala si Mikay doon para may katulong ka sa mga papeles na dapat i-arrange at isasama ko rin si Claire," ate said.

Claire is here secretary while Mikay is mine.

I nodded. "Okay ate, by the way, did you already book a ticket?"

"Yes so no need to worry about that. Mag impake ka na lang at sabihan mo si Mikay para maka pag prepare siya. O siya aalis muna ako at may pupuntahan lang, babalik ako agad mamaya."

She didn’t wait for my answer and walk to the door already. I sat at my swivel chair and close my eyes. Inabot ko ang phone ko at dinial ang numero ni Mikay.

I put my phone in my right ear and waited for her to pick up the phone. It took three rings before she answered.

"H-hello m-ma’am..." Nanginginig na aniya.

I sighed and calm myself. "What took you so long to answer?" Mahinahon ang boses ko.

"K-kasi ano ma’am, nasa ano ako ngayon."

Kumunot ang noo ko. Her voice sounded like she’s hurt. My heart beats fast, seems like there’s something wrong with her.

"What happened? Tell me Mikay!" I said panicking.

Nakarinig ako ng buntong hininga sa kabilang linya. "Nasa cr ako, tumatae."

My jaw dropped and my eyes widened. "Yuck! Ang bantot mo, putek ka!"

Humalakhak siya. "Ikaw kasi eh! Ang tagal lumabas ng tae punyeta!" Mahinang mura niya pero rinig ko pa rin.  "Bakit pala ma’am?" Natatawa pa rin siya.

"Guess what?"

"Hindi ko alam. Guess what guess what ka riyan. Spill the tea Maria!"

My blood boils hearing my first name. "Can you stop calling me my first name okay? Pumunta ka na lang dito, sasabihin ko sa ‘yo pagkatapos mong umano riyan!"

I heard her chuckled. "Arte-arte, anong umano? Sabihin mo tumae!"

"Yuck, shut up!"

I ended the call. I stood up and entered the bathroom. For today, I lazily wore my skirt and fitted top partnered with my cardigan and pump. I bit my lip to make it reddened more. I don’t know why I feel so tired even if I didn’t done something.
