"So? What do you guys plan on doing now?" Bright asks worriedly, Arthit had just explained to him what occured in their not so pleasant 'family dinner.' The supposed engaged couple having no choice but to crash at Bright's place first because they didn't want to see their parents with the fear of blurting out something stupid if ever interrogated.

"We have to continue." Arthit sighs, brushing his fingers through his hair before looking at the door to the room where Kongpob was currently resting in. Internally cursing himself for dragging the other boy into his mess.

"But you guys aren't even dating. Like legitimately dating. If you continue you'll end up getting married to each othe-"

"We have no choice." Arthit cuts off, feeling lost himself. "We're just gonna have to find a way to break the engagement before the official announcement."

"Even if you do find a way to break your engagement, that would still mean you'll end up getting married to someone you still don't like. Arthit. I'm sorry but you have no way out of this." Bright points out causing the other boy to bite his tongue. He couldn't deny it. Even if he did manage to break his engagement with Kongpob, he'll still end up having to marry Namtan.

"I'm tired. Let's talk about his tomorrow." Arthit excuses himself, turning his back to Bright who still had a concerned expression.

"Arthit." the tall man calls out, making Arthit stop on his tracks.

"Whatever you choose to do, just don't do something you'll regret. Please." his bestfriend begs, Arthit nods his head before grabbing and turning the knob to the room.

"Don't worry." Arthit says before entering the room. The lights were out and the only source that aided him was the soft moonlight that came from the window. Closing the door softly, Arthit navigates his way around the bed and pulls out the futon and extra pillow from under it. Gazing at the resting figure on top of the bed before sighing and laying down on the futon.

"He's right." Kongpob suddenly speaks, surprising the other boy.

"Who?"

"Bright. No matter what you choose, you still end up getting tied to someone you don't want."

Sighing internally, Arthit turns and looks at Kongpob who was staring on the ceiling, his back resting on the soft bed. "Let's just continue acting first, I'll find a way out. I'm sorry for dragging you into my mess."

"It's okay. I chose this anyways."

Silence started to fill the room and all Arthit could hear was the sound of the clock ticking. Until Kongpob spoke again.

"Why can't you marry Namtan?"

"We're friends, plus, Namtan is already dating Jay. And Jay is also my friend."

"What about me? Are we even considered as friends?" Kongpob asks straightforwardly, Arthit takes a few seconds before answering. Not really sure of what to say.

"I—I don't know. Can we talk about this tomorrow?" Arthit asks, his head slightly aching from all the pressure he's been getting all day.

"Do you think things would've turned out differently?"

"What do you mean?" Arthit asks back, confused.

"I mean if we met in different circumstances and were actually together when they told us earlier about the engagement, would things turn out differently? Would you have accepted it even if you find out your parents still had a hand in it?" Kongpob asks again. His voice weirdly strained, but Arthit doesn't want to assume. Instead, the young man stays silent, not knowing how to reply. Looking at the window, he can hear shifting from the bed. Faint footsteps filling the once again silent room.
