An "Accident" That Led To Something Else (Hades x Megara) (A Hercules Fanfic)

Chapter 15

Megara's POV

 Time Skip... Five Days Later... 

   

     I'm just doing some light housekeeping when all of the sudden my stomach does a series of flips... and water begins oozing out of my private area. I look at the floor in shock realizing that my water just broke. I yell for Hades to come as fast as he can. Hades' eyes bug out of his head when he realizes that my water has indeed broke. He gently scoops me up into his arms and poofs us to my doctor. We startle my doctor a bit but she immediately gets to work prepping the room for the birth of our daughter. My contractions are very close and I'm in extreme pain. I love my baby girl but I need her out of the womb, PRONTO. 

      Hades doesn't utter an ounce of sarcasm towards me or my doctor. Instead, he supports me like a loving boyfriend would and holds my hand throughout the entire process. As my contractions get closer and closer, the pain increases. I feel guilty as Hades winces at the decibel of my yelling. I pout and tear up a bit. "I'm sorry for being so loud babe, I'm just in a lot of pain. I'm looking forward to our baby girl finally getting out of the womb. She's just about ready to come out. Right Doc?" She nods. "We're just about ready to begin pushing her out. I suspect within a half an hour. I know it's easier said than done, but please do your best to patient and hang in there." 

 Half an hour later...

     Right on cue, it's time to push out our baby. It takes several tries and a lot of forced effort in order to push her out. The decibel of my yelling increases tenfold until the baby is out of my uterus and Hades does the honor of cutting the umbilical cord. My doctor smiles at me softly. "You have a beautiful and healthy baby girl. Congratulations Megara and Hades. I wish you all the best in the journey that is parenthood." She turns to Hades for a moment. "I'd like to keep both Meg and the baby for observational purposes for tonight but if everything checks out, which I think it will, they'll be able to go home tomorrow." Hades nods in agreement. "That sounds wise to me. Are you okay with that Meg?" I nod with a tired smile. "That's fine, I trust your judgment Doc. Can I hold my baby girl before you begin cleaning her and what not?" 

      She smiles at me and hands over my daughter. "Absolutely." I cradle my daughter in my arms and instantly all feels right in the world. I get more emotional than I've ever been in my entire life. Our daughter is so beautiful, the perfect mix of Hades and I. For example, she has my violet eyes but Hades' blue hair. Her appearance may startle some but she's perfect in my eyes. Hades seems to agree because he's staring at her so lovingly. Hades kisses me tenderly on the forehead and smiles down at her. "My precious Meglet, we really made the perfect baby. Didn't we?" I smile up at him before turning my attention back to our daughter. "We sure did. Say Hades, what should we name her?" 

          He smiles from ear to ear. "I was thinking Euphoria. I know it's a bit odd but it suits her. After all, our daughter is a unique and will be a rather eccentric gem as she grows up. What do you think?" I take a moment to think about it before nodding in agreement. "I love it! Euphoria it is." Euphoria grabs onto my chest and gurgles adorably. My heart just melts, I love her so much already. "Welcome to the world Euphoria, it's going to be a wild ride but you're going to do amazing things in this lifetime and many more to come." Hades then silently pleads to hold her for a bit so I let him do so. It's only fair, after all, he's her father. Hades gives her tons of attention before our doctor politely requests us to let her clean up Euphoria for a bit before she puts her down for a nap in a cradle beside my bed. When Euphoria is sound asleep, Hades and I cuddle with each other in bed before we both fall asleep. Both of us have been running on fumes for three days straight and this short period of rest is much needed. Our lifestyle has just changed forever, but in the best possible way.
