I feel like I can finally breathe again, as the last people go home for the night. "Oh, thank the gods that's over," I whine as we ride back to the palace. "Don't know about you, but I kinda liked it," my brother Cassian shrugged. "Yeah, well you like everything," I roll my eyes. "Evelyn!" my mother scolded, "sit like a lady!". I quickly corrected my posture, pretending I cared. The Empress nodded in approval, then went back to knitting.
It wasn't until she sneezed, that I remembered Haela was here, too. She has been unusually quiet today. "Gods bless you," I say. She smiled, and said "thanks'. We rode the rest of the way in silence.
