Chapter three

Maia pov

I volunteered to be the dd because I never really like to drink. This way I knew Sarah and Top had a way to get home safe. I finished getting ready for the party not trying to wear something too sluty but also something that would catch someones attention. Nobody in particular but I just wanted to look good for my first night back in Obx. I went with a baby blue crop top and ruffled skirt set from Princess Polly. I did my makeup light trying to keep it more natural and I gave my hair a few curls.

Yeah pick us up at my house.

I grabbed my keys and made my way to the Cameron's. It wasn't even a five minute drive. I texted Sarah that I was here and was waiting for them to come out. From the corner of my eye I spotted Rafe getting on to his motorcycle near the garage. I thought since when did he get a motorcycle. I wasn't complaining though it made him look even sexier. That was until I saw a girl dressed in a black dress hop on the back and cling around his waist. Please don't drive past please don't drive past. I prayed in my head sure enough Rafe was heading my way. My first instinct was to recline the seat and stay low. I probably looked like and idiot but atleast this way he could not see me in the car. Sure enough he drove right past.

We finally arrived to the party it was on the pogues side of the Island. It was considered Kelces party though because he bought the kegs. So the pogues said they could have it on their side of the island but everyone was aloud to come it wasn't going to be a kook party. I thought this would stop Top and Sarah from wanting to go but I guess when it came to partying they didn't care about Pogues and Kooks for the most part anyway. When we were walking up to the beach where everyone was at Sarah wrapped her arm around mine like we were a couple.

"Ladies and gentlemen of Obx Maia Carrington is back and here to stay!" She yelled raising her hand up in celebration. I could feel my cheeks flushing red. Everyone was whistling and chanting for me. And then I saw Rafe his arm wrapped around the girl from the motorcycle. He had a mean look on his face he looked like he wasn't happy about my arrival. I for one didn't care I wasn't going to let Rafe Cameron ruin the night I have been waiting for, for the past two years.

"Maia!" A boy called from behind me his voice sounded familiar but I couldnt exactly tell who it was. I turned around to see the one and only JJ Maybank.

"Oh my god JJ!" I said he held his arms out for a hug and I ran up and hugged him. It was a much needed hug his skin was warm I couldn't tell if it was because of the sun or alcohol.

"I missed you Carrington especially on our side of the island. You still going to come around even though you officially have the biggest house on figure 8?" He said with a smart ass tone.

"Yes JJ I would never go full kook on you." I said punching his shoulder.

"Ouch Care" He said flinching. I knew he was joking and I loved when he called me Care. It was short for Carrington and he was the only person that ever called me that.

"So do you want to dance or something?" He asked grabbing a hold of my hand and twirling me in a circle. I just smiled and followed him to an imaginary dance floor joining everyone else who was dancing. I started grinding on JJ reaching back and running my fingers through his hair. Everyone was making remarks and saying shit but I just ignored them. I was in my own little world until I caught Rafe staring into my soul from across the beach. I looked away immediately and then I saw him coming towards us. His hand was made into a fist and that girl was no where to be found.
