Chapter Five

*beep beep beep*
I frowned when my alarm went up at exactly 9 in the morning. I was still tired from last night but somehow managed to drag myself out of bed and down to the kitchen. I made a pot of coffee and sat at the table scrolling through instagram.

"Hey want to make me some?" Jj said peering up over the couch. I gasped super loud and practically jumped up out of my chair.

"Holy shit jj, you scared me!" I said trying to catch my breath.

"Sorry, Kei told me your parents weren't home and said it would be cool if we crashed here."

"We?" I asked confused.

"Oh yeah John B and Pope are in one of guest rooms upstairs." He said pointing up towards the steps. I honestly wasn't mad that they stayed over I mean what did I care. Atleast I was not alone this way.

"Oh why didn't you stay in a room upstairs? You know we have plenty." I said confused to why he would pick a couch over a bed.

"Well Maia you see this is the biggest Tv in the house and I needed the catch up on Vampire diaries." He said gesturing towards the tv. He worn a huge smile on his face and his eyes looked more blue then usual.

"You watch tvd?" I said started to laugh I just couldn't help my self.

"Hell yeah I do!" He said followed by a laugh.

"Do you have a massive crush on Elena." I said joking around.

"No, Damon" he said putting his hat on backwards. I loved when he wore his hat backwards and his hair would stick out the sides. It was hot.

"Ah I see, you know I can't blame you. It easy to get lost in those eyes of his." I said a smile brushing across my face as I stirred sugar into my coffee. He didn't say anything he just watched me make my coffee. "You want anything in yours? I asked while pouring coffee into a mug for him.

"No, I'll take it black today." He said walking over to have a seat across from me.

"Interesting" I said sliding the cup of coffee to him from across the table.

"Do you have any plans today because I think the boys and me are going out on the marsh if you want to come." He said taking the first sip of his coffee.

"Yeah I am actually going on the ferry in a few hours." I said going to take a sip of mine. I actually forgot Rafe and me made those plans until JJ asked me what mine were for the day.

"Oh really with who?" He said glaring up at me. It wasn't a mean glare but like a who the hell would you be going on a ferry with glare.

"Rafe." As soon as his name left my mouth I felt butterflies in my stomach.

"Rafe Cameron." He said in disbelief. "You know he doesn't deserve you. He's like the biggest fuck boy on the Island. Except that girl ali who he was hanging out with for like a week tops. You know he actually shoved her off of him yesterday." His words shocked me I couldn't believe I actually thought that Rafe Cameron changed while I was gone. I didn't want to be another one of Rafes conquest.

"Will you excuse me" I said leaning up from the table to run to the bathroom. I just needed a minute alone I didn't want Jj to see me like this. Soon enough I heard a knock at the door and it was Jj.

"Hey are you okay? I didn't mean to scare you or be a dick im just protective over you and don't want him to hurt you." He said. I could hear him breathing really heavy on the other side of the door.

"Yeah I just need a few minutes." I said. I heard jj footsteps as he walked away. I waited about two minutes then snuck up to my room so JJ wouldn't see me. I pulled my phone out and started to draft up an excuse to text Rafe of why I couldn't go today. But I just kept typing then deleting everything I wrot.
