Tommy didn't want her to go, and as much as she didn't want to either, she swam away. As far as possible.
Tubbo surely didn't want to see her again, so she took that to heart and noted it was the reason for her not to come back.
As for Ranboo, well, she tried her best not to think about him.
But there were so much to think about.
He was the only reason she wanted to go back, constantly battling over her mentality. Just for him.
Then again, why was she so attached?
Was it because he kept giving her roses? What was the reason behind that mysterious act? When he tried to kiss her, why did she quickly accept it?
Oh.
Had she been falling for him all this time?
Looking back at it, maybe she did. A sheepish smile crept on her face. All this talk about Ranboo made her stomach fuzzy. Like there were...butterflies.
It was the same feeling she felt every time they held the same long stick to "hold hands". The iffy thought of him liking her back made her want to scream out happiness.
Ranboo was her first friend, and now her first love interest.
Her mind was pretty occupied at the moment, making her lose track of where she was going. Just then, the mermaid bumped into something.
"Sorry! I didn't see you th—" her mouth dropped when it turned around. It was a Drowned.
A Drowned was a zombie-like creature, though an aquatic version. Nonetheless, it was a hostile mob. Meaning, it attacks.
Sereia tried to swim away as fast as possible, but it chased her relentlessly around the river.
After awhile, the waterway led her to a dead end. She had never killed a mob before, but maybe this Drowned would change that.
Briskly, she looked around for a weapon and found a small rock. When she was about to hit it, the mob died right in front of her.
"Bullseye." A man stood on the big rock, wearing a bright green jacket had shot an arrow at the Drowned. His husky voice sounded satisfied.
Sereia scanned him, uncontrollably panting. It was the same masked man she saw back then when the trio and her went for a walk.
"HOLY SHRIMP!" She gasped in realization, panicking when she had nowhere else to go. He was Dream.
"Calm down, little fish. I'm not gonna hurt you." He chuckled. Why was he chuckling?!
"N-no! You're the green teletubby!" She narrowed her eyebrows at him.
"Teletubby? Did Techno tell you that?"
She rapidly shook her head. "Tommy did. You're a bad guy!"
"Oh come on now." A smirk was audible from his tone. "Would a bad guy save a mermaid from dying to a Drowned?"
"But!" Sereia scoffed. "You created wars! You stole Tommy's discs! If anything, you're everyones arched nemesis! You're the villain!"
"If I'm such a villain to you, why aren't you swimming away?"
"I..." she threw her gaze away in shame. "I have nowhere else to swim to."
Dream got up to leave and said blankly. "Bummer."
She looked back up at the smiley face on his mask in disbelief. "What?"
"I said bummer. But if you're interested, go two rivers back, then turn left to a lake tomorrow. There'll be a couple torches that'll lead you to my house. I'll meet you there."
"Pardon?"
The confused look on her face made him laugh. "Sereia, I know everyone in this server. I hold power people never knew I had. That's why they call me a bad guy or a villain. Come to my manor and I'll give you something you've wished for a long time."
"Which is?" She couldn't see Dream's actual face, but she was sure he was devilishly grinning.
"I can turn you into a human."
