The next morning, I woke up at 9AM to get ready. Everyone was still in their room asleep. I quickly took a shower, I decided not to wash my hair since my hair has been washed and freshly dyed yesterday night after our performance.

I entered Junsol and Chaewon's shared bedroom. I went over to their wardrobe, taking a long sleeved button up before closing their bedroom door.

I went back to my room to change to a a white tank top and beige flared low waisted jeans. I layered my outfit with Junsol's beige oversized button up. I grabbed my green cap that was hanging on my bed frame. I put on light make up before meeting my manager downstairs.

He opens the door for me, letting me climb in the van before running off to the driver's seat.

"Do you want to get coffee first?" he asks.

"Sure."

He drives us to the nearest Starbucks. He goes through the drive thru, ordering us both a drink. I pass him my card, letting him know it was on me. He usually gets a company card, but it's early in the morning, and he doesn't get enough sleep, just like us.

He passes me my card along with my drink before driving off to the company building.

When we arrived in the meeting room, I notice that most of the people has arrived. My eyes widen a little when I notice that Mark was sitting on an empty chair. There was an empty seat next to him.

Mark was wearing a white t-shirt and black cargo pants. Like me, he also had a black cap on the top of his head, covering a little bit of his face. He was also wearing a face mask.

My manager points to the empty seat next to the boy, telling me to sit there.

There were a few cameras directed towards us.

I greet the people in the room before sitting down next to Mark.

"You two have been invited to become a temporary mentor for Mnet's new show called, Kingdom," the staff in a black hat says.

I've heard about Kingdom a few times. I don't really keep up with it, but a few of my idol friends are the judges for the show, and they would often tell me about it.

"Do you know what Kingdom is about?" she asks us.

"I don't really watch it... but some of my friends are the judges for Kingdom," I explain.

"I don't really know what it's about..." Mark mutters next to me.

The staff laughs, "Kingdom is a show where trainees from different companies join and compete. Only the top 10 will get to debut."

"Ah..." I trail off.

"So, you guys will not only be temporary mentors, but we would also like you two to create a choreography as an introduction,"

Never in my life have I ever created my own dance before. I've spent many years being taught how to dance- never lead

"That's going to be difficult," I joke, leaning my elbow on the table. The room fills with laughters.

"So, you guys will be surprise guests. You will only appear in episode 5 through 7."

Mark nods, "so we will make a surprise performance for them?"

The staff nods, "yes, that is right," she says. "So, if you guys agree, we would like for you guys to sign these papers, then we can proceed with the recording and performance."

I internally sigh. Out of everyone, why do I have to be with the guy who spilled ice cream on my stage outfit?

"When will we start filming?" Mark asks.

"In 3 weeks," she answers, "but if you guys need more time to choreograph, we can give you an extra week."

I was about to tell the staff that 3 weeks would be enough time for the both of us, but I was immediately cut off by Mark's manager telling us that we would need 4 weeks to practice.

The staff agrees, giving us 4 weeks to practice. We were soon dismissed a few minutes later after signing the contract.

I stand next to Mark while our manager converse with each other.

"Did you expect this?" he asks me.

I turn to look at him, "not at all. It's so out of the blue."

He agrees, "do you have any choreo style you wanna do?"

I shrug, "I'll have to watch Kingdom for a bit. I'll text you about it, maybe?" I suggest.

He nods, pulling out his phone while I do the same.

I share my Kakaotalk ID while he shares his with me. We add each other and bid goodbyes because his manager was already pulling him away.

I heard from my friend that Mark was always busy. He spends most of his time practicing, if not, making music. Once in a blue moon, he will get to see his friends outside of the idol world. He must be busy right now too, and yet, he agreed to the whole choreography thing.

He's definitely someone a lot of younger trainees would look up to.
