Previously: 

"Lets go, Lily better be ok," the couple apparated straight to St Mungos.

As soon as James got to St Mugos, he shouted for help, he couldn't believe this was happening. Tears were streaming down his face. 
"Excuse me pleas ecan you stop shouting - " the healer stopped as he saw what James was carrying. 
"Please, please help, her pulse is weak, please..." James begged.
"Please put her on this bed, go check her in now," the healer said and pushed Lily into a room to start healing her. 
James walked over to the counter. 
"James Potter?" the receptionist asked. James looked up to see a fellow student from Hogwarts. Maddie Lewis, she was a few years older than him. 
"Hey Maddie," 
"What happened," she asked, having seen all the blood on his shirt. 
That was it, he broke down, he was still in shock, he was such a bad husband, why didn't he go to help her! Why did he let Randolf torture her like that, how could have he let that happen. 
As soon as Remus and Clara touched the floor of St Mungos they ran to the reception desk to ask about Lily and saw James on the floor sobbing. 
Clara rushed to his side and let him cry on her shoulder, while Remus checked Lily in.
"Hey, hey, shhhh, it's ok," Clara tried to sooth James but it didn't seem to be working.
"No no it's not ok! I should have been there, I should have been there, I should have protected her! I am her husband for Merlin's sake! I should've been there and now, now she's on the brink of death, what am I supposed to do without her, I can't do anything without her!" he sobbed. 
Clara had no idea what to do. So she just let him cry on her shoulder. 

The doctors rushed Lily into the hospital room and began by healing her cuts, they had never seen this type of curse before, but they knew it was dark. One of the healers had collected a sample of this curse to perhaps be able to track what spell was used to perform such a horrific thing. However, as this was a new spell and hadn't been written down in any books, they were unable to do so. The healers badaged her up and were able to put the bleeding under control. The boils were controlled by a counter-curse, but her pulse was still very weak due to the huge loss of blood, and the cruciatus curse. 

As soon as one of the healers came out, James rushed to them.
"Hi, how is she
"Hello..."
"James Potter,"
"Hello Mr Potter, I am healer Adams, we were able to stop her bleeding however we don't know what curse ould have caused it, the boils were also taken under control so she is in less pain now, but because of the huge amount of blood loss and the effect of the cruciatus curse her pulse is still very very weak, we were only just able to detect it. We'll have to monitor her, we don't know if she'll be able to make it. Mr Potter, for medical and security purposes we need to answer a few questions," 
"Yeah of- of course," James wiped the tears of his face. 
"Patient's name?" 
"Lily Potter,"
"Relation to you?"
"Wife,"
"How did this happen?"
"W-we're-" he looked over at Clara and Remus, the organisation was supposed to be a secret, "We were sent on a mission, to look for something, we graduated from Hogwarts last year and this was a mission as trainee aurors, I think," he said.
"Alright, ok then, I presume you have registered her, please wait here, as soon as there's an update, we'll let you know," 
"Th-thank you Healer Adams," James sniffled. He hated waiting, and at a time like this he was becoming more and more impatient.

Lily was walking through the halls, she didn't know which ones, right now they were just white. Into the distance there was a sort of light, she was about to walk towards it when she saw 4 very familiar figures walking to her.
"Mum, Dad!" she exclaimed. She ran over to hug her parents. Next to them were her parents-in-law. She hugged them too. 
"Hi! What are you guys doing here and what is this place?" she asked.
"Hello Lily, it's great to see you again," her mum exclaimed.
"Lily do you know what this place is?" Euphi asked. Lily shook her head. There was a small , sad frown on each of their faces. 
"What is it?" she asked.
"Lily, you know we're dead ," her father said. Lily looked shocked.
"Wait wait, so I'm dead?" she gasped. 
"No, no not yet, you see that tunnel of light if you had walked in there, then you'd be dead,"Fleamont explained. 
"Wait so if you guys hadn't walked into the light, you'd be alive?" the four figures smiled.
"No dear, our time was up so we were allready past the light, we didn't have a chance to come here, you however, your time isn't up yet, you still have the chance to go back. This is a sort of land between the living and the dead, those who met in unexpected unfortunate accident whose time down there isn't over, come here and they have to fight for their life again.But we were able to come here to talk to you as your family."her mum said
"So, the chose is your you want to go back or not?"
Lily looked over at the light tunnel, it was tempting but then she remembered what she thought as she was hit with the curse. She had more to live for, this wasn't the end just yet. She had to go back. She was able to see James, Remus and Clara in despair. All her other friends had apparated their as well, including Peter, even McGonagall and Dumbledore were there, she had to go back to this family.
"I need to go back, I need to go back," she said. Her parents smiled. 
Of course dear but this is were we leave you, this is where you fight your own fight for your life, you see that wall over there, " Euphi said, pointing at the blank wall infront of her, " the more your desire is for wanting to go back, the easier it will be for you." 
"Thank you so so so much!" Lily said and hugged all her parents for the last time. 
"Tell James and Sirius we love them," Euphi said, tearing up.
"Don't worry about your sister Lils, she has always been jealous of you but one day, one day you'll be able to make up," her mother said. 
"Love you!" they shouted.
"Love you too!" she shouted back. 
Now this must be simple, all she had to do was try and break through the wall. 
Surprisingly, it was quite difficult, it wouldn't budge. But she thought of all the happy memories with her friends, James and school that brought a smile to her face. She put her hand on the wall again, but it went right through. She walked through the wall and she was now in a hospital bed, 'probably St Mungos' she thought.

The monitor beeped quicker and quicker. Lily struggled to open her eyes, it felt like they were glued together, she used her strength and her eyelids fluttered open.
"Hello Mrs Potter, we weren't expecting you to wake so quickly!" one of the healers said. 
she tried talking but she wasn't able to form any words, her mouth felt so dry. 
"Here let me get you some water," Lily chugged down the water. Her throat softened. 
"James, James," she said. 
"Of course let me quickly check your temperature and I'll call the healer and your husband. " 
"Th-thank you," she croaked. 

"Mr James Potter?" the healer asked as he came out of her room. James quickly rushed to him.
"Yes, please, please tell me it's good news," he pleaded. The healer smiled
"Mrs Potter, has woken up and she was asking for you," James' eyes widened. 
"She's awake! She's awake!" he shouted. The rest of her friends ran up to James as well.
"I'm really sorry, but I think it's best if you go in one by one, she has just woken up," the healer said, " she was asking for you Mr Potter,"

Another healer came in, "Hello, Mrs Potter, we really weren't expecting you to wake this quickly," she said. 
'Well doesn't that sound nice,' lily thought.
"L-lils, are you, you're..." James couldn't finish of his sentence and tears spilled out of his eyes. He ran over to her bedside and hugged her. Lily smiled and hugged back. 
"I am so so so sorry Lily, I should have been there to help you, it's all my fault. I am so sorry, I know I made this huge mistake but p-please forgive me, please." James whispered.
"I-it's ok James, you were fighting as well and I'm not forgiving you because you have nothing to be sorry for James." Lily was tearing up now as well. 
"I do, I do!" Lily hugged James, he crawled back into bed with her and was crying on his shoulder. Lily patted his back and his breathing soon calmed down. He warpped his arms around her waist and she held on to him, tight. 

"Hey Lils! I'm so glad you're ok!" Clara said rushing into the room. She then stopped as Lily pointed down at at sleeping James. 
"Aww he deserves it, he's been stressing about it all day." she said. 
"Yeah, oh well, we'll leave you guys here to rest and we'll come back later to check on you," Remus added. 
"Just make sure nothing else goes on over here," Sirius smirked.
Lily rolled her eyes at him.
