A/N: chapters' kinda cringe.
_________________________________________As the week went by and you found yourself trying to avoid the boys more than usual, you couldn't help but feel guilty when you easily talked to Osamu on your way to class but only waved and threw a quick glance at Atsumu any other time you saw him.
This was hard- wanting these feelings to go away but also wanting him as close to you as possible- he was your friend, who cared so deeply about you and now you were so scared about being around him in case you acted out of the ordinary.
But, you were already acting odd, you were acting like, your middle school self around Atsumu again and he absolutely hated it, he loathed it. That feeling he felt everytime you caught the boys on your way home and you struggled to hold eye contact with him, it made him want to walk in the middle of the road and let a fucking semi take him- not to get crazy but- it was the easiest way out of those awkward encounters he could think of.
Your first game was rolling around, in fact it was in a couple of hours and Atsumu still couldn't believe that he had only just heard about it from Suna 30 minutes ago.
He glanced down at his watch as he stood at the roof of the school with Samu and the middle blocker, a frown taking over his face as he looks out into the street, "what the hell?"
He still couldn't believe it- no, he couldn't understand it- why the hell didn't you tell him your game was today?
"Honestly, what if she just expected you to see the roster posted up in the school somewhere?" Suna thought out as he slumped against the rail, his bag sitting nicely at his feet.
Osamu had no trouble shutting this down, "yeah but, that would be if the school gave a shit about the girl's volleyball club and actually did that." Suna winces at this.
"That's kinda harsh."
"Its not how I feel, it's just the truth. The school sucks at getting the word out for the girls of any club-"
"She's been ignoring me for the past couple of days Samu," Atsumu shuts them up, sounding in disbelief as he looks back on the few times he got to even speak to you this week, "have you noticed? The way she easily talks to you but jumps back anytime I lay a hand on her," he turns around, leaning into his brother's space, "do you guys know something i don't?"
Samu grimaces, then he scoffs, "listen asshole, I didn't get an invite either, alright?" Osamu sizes him up, getting closer to his brother's face, "if you're worried about me, like getting with her or whatever, I wouldn't do something like that knowing how batshit crazy you are about her."
Atsumu backs off, the claim almost being enough to make him go red but he was too frustrated to get flustered right now. He never lowers his gaze as he picks his bag up from the ground, bumping into Osamu's shoulder as he walks past him, "I didn't do shit, and it's starting to piss me off."
Osamu mirrors him, Suna following behind as well while they head for the stairs, "yeah well that's some shit you gotta talk out with her. Who knows why she'd wanna ignore you but I got plenty reasons I'd do it." Suna snorts at Osamu's way of egging his brother on, but Atsumu hardly gave any attention to it as he grumbled under his breath and marched down the flights of stairs with them.
The game came easy to you all, with this being the first game of the season and being put up against such a bump in the road of a school, it was nothing to get worked up over.
