Kayde POV
" you ready?" I whisper to Ziggy.
She nodded
We were in the outhouse in a stall right next to the one Sheila will go into.
We heard the door open then close.
"Will! This is too cute." We heard Sheila say.
I couldn't help but giggle. Ziggy turned around & put her finger up to her mouth telling me to shh.
"Could have done it in your bunk, but I guess this is kind of hot." Sheila said, getting closer.
We heard the stall next to us door open & close.
"Ready set go!" I said.
Ziggy pull the rope that was holding the bucket, bugs came flying down on Sheila's head & Sheila screaming. Me & Ziggy ran out laughing our asses off. We put a screwdriver into the padded locked so Sheila would be lock in. We started walking to our cabin.
"I can't believe we pulled that off." I said.
"She sounded like a frog."said Ziggy, mocking Sheila scream.
"Miller, Berman why aren't you playing the color war!" Said Nick, walking up to us.
"God you sound like Kurt." I said.
"We just were playing our own game." Said Ziggy.
Nick crossed his arm looking back and forth between us two.
"Uh I'm going back to the cabin Kayde." Said Ziggy, then turning around jogging to our cabin.
"I seen you guys breaking into the science & nature room." Said Nick.
"Yeah & I'll do it again." I said, smiling at him.
"You wouldn't." He said.
I took his challenge & started running towards the science & nature room.
"Kayde!" Yelled Nick, running after me.
I went & open the door when someone grab me by my waist.
I turned around & see Nick.
I just smiled.
"Gotcha!" He said, smiling back, showing his dimples.
I giggle, while he released his arms from my Waist.
I smirk while walking into science & nature.
Nick was right behind me.
"Soo..." I said, look down playing with my necklace.
"Why do you play with your necklace when you're around me." Nick said.
" huh, no I don't." I said, releasing my hand off of my necklace.
"Yes you do" he said.
"It was my mom's." I said.
"What happen to her?" Asked Nick.
"2 weeks ago, my house caught on fire with her & my brothers in it. My dad was at work & I was out with friends. " I said, sitting down on a bench.
" I heard about that, a hair straightener was still plugged in & caught the curtain on fire & then causing the house to catch on fire." Nick said, sitting down next to me.
"Yeah my straightener. My dad tries to tell me it wasn't my fault. But it was & last time I seen her was before I left & we were arguing. She didn't want me going out. But I didn't listen, if only I did. That stupid straightener wouldn't of been plug in & my innocent mom & brothers wouldn't be dead & I wouldn't have so much guilt." I Said, with tears in my eyes.
"It not your fault Kayde, you didn't know." Said Nick, pulling me into a hug.
" I just wish I could fast forward stuff." I said, I wrapped my arms around him.
" me too. I just recently lost my dad too. " Nick said, releasing from the hug.
" Nick... I'm so sorry." I said.
"Don't be. My dad was sheriff of Sunnyvale. Before he died he loaded me with all this, you know 'you're my legacy, the future of the family depends on you' shit. You know he just dropped this huge burden in my lap and... I don't know, what if I don't want that? What if that's not who I want to be? What if I want to be the kid who likes spiders & Stephen king." He said.
" and the weird girl from Shadyside." I said, making eye contact with him.
"Yeah. The weird girl from Shadyside." He said, with a little laugh. " -but uh... I guess there's nothing I can do about it."
"Why not?" I asked.
"Okay uh, can we asked easy question now." Nick said, dodging my question. Getting up.
" um...How about..." I said, fiddling with my necklace again.
"How about?" Nick said, waiting for me to finish my question.
"Would you ever kissed the weird girl?" I asked, getting closed to him.
He got closer to me, leaning in. I leaned in with him & our lips connected.
I felt so many butterflies while kissing him.
Until our kissed got interrupted with screaming.
We both looked up.
