1 month later

It's the end of September also the week of homecoming, I've never thought how much of a big deal homecoming is until I went to Sunnyvale high school.

It's Wednesday & I'm in my 6th bell social studies with Charlotte we're discussing homecoming dress shopping for tomorrow .

"So did you & Nick plan out what color you're doing?" Asked Charlotte.

we were doing a project on World War 2. I was writing down facts on flash cards.

"Uhhh well I don't know maybe red." I said, looking down.

" Kayde, you okay?" Asked Charlotte.

" is it weird Nick hasn't made a move on me yet. " I said.

" no, he's probably taking it slow you are the first girl he ever really cared about." She said.

"Yeah probably." I said.

"Just give it time." She said.

I nodded going back to my notes.

The bell rang for dismissal & I left out of class. Nick wasn't at school today, which is weird.

I seen Kurt.

"Hey Kurt." I said, walking up to him.

"Where's Nick?" I asked.

"Uhh said he had some family emergency." He said, scratching the back of his head.

"Will here today?" I asked.

"Nope." Said Kurt.

"Great." I mumbled.

My dad had to work a little overtime.  So I had to walk home which is like 30 minute walk.

I never thought 30 minutes was this long until this boring walked.

I felt a raindrop hit my arm & looked up & seen gray clouds.

"Just my fucking luck." I mumbled, before rain came down.

I put my book bag over my head for a shield.

"Hey Miller! You need a ride?" Kurt yelled out his window, while pulling over.

"Uhh yeah." I said.

"Well get in." He said.

I open his car door & got in the passenger seat. As soon as I closed the door, Kurt drove off.

" why are you walking home." He said.

" my dad had to work late so I told him I'll walk which wasn't a problem until it started raining." I said.

" where's your house?" He asked.

"Right next to Nick's." I said.
