AMELIA HENDERSON resides in the average, plain town of hawkins, indiana. each day was the same — biking to school with her brother dustin and other friends, will, lucas and mike — spending lunch reading while the boys were in av club, then all of them riding back home together at three pm to to play dungeons and dragons in mike's basement.
that was until the winter of 1983, where amelia's world was turned upside down. literally.
the unveiling of government secrets, her best friend going missing, hideous monsters from another dimension, and the strange girl they found in the woods that possessed telekinetic powers all contributed to the sudden abnormality of their lives.
but a year later, all that was over, and with eleven and most ties to the upside down gone, amelia and her friends were ready to reach normality again; ready to live a regular life as they newly-minted teenagers that they were.
that was until a beautiful, sassy redhead came into the picture — alongside the possibility that they weren't as safe as they originally thought.
