Peggy Schuyler(the darkest minds)

The beginning

It's a beautiful day and the children are playing outside together Peggy Schuyler a sweet outgoing 8 year old girl is playing tag with her sisters Angelica and Eliza. Angelica who's 10 was also outgoing and very head strong.Eliza on the other hand was a more shy and quite girl at age 9 however this made the schuylers a perfect crew.

"Tag your it" Peggy said as she tagged her sister and ran away.Angelica took off and started chasing Eliza the game went on for hours Tag your it was the Schuyler sisters favorite game they played almost everyday.

"Tag got you." Angelica said as she tagged Eliza. Eliza started running until she looked back and noticed Angelica wasn't chasing her instead she was just standing in place Peggy noticed too they both started to walk over to Angelica once they got closer Eliza noticed Angelicas eyes were green...not just green but they were glowing green.

"Ah!" Eliza screamed and back up startling Peggy. A few second later Angelica dropped straight to the ground Eliza ran straight to her and started to shake her softly.

"Angie...Angelica come on wake up that's not funny..." after a few more try's still no response.

"Mom!Mom!Mom!" Eliza yelled trying to get her moms attention from inside.

"What's going on?" Peggy asked scared.

"Peggy go get Mom and dad quickly go!" Eliza asked Peggy. Peggy took of sprinting into the house and soon came out with both parents sprinting to Angelica and Eliza.Things seem to be flashing before Peggys eyes everything was happening so quick she was clueless next thing she knows she's in the car with her parents driving faster than they ever have before.Days later her parents had to explain to her that her sister had passed away and there still not sure why.

Months later things got quieter in the Schuyler house hold everyone was still upset over Angelicas death how could they not.Over the months more and more children were rapidly dying with no traces as to why and reports of light going out and objects floating.

Peggys Pov

"Bye my babies have a good school day and please please be safe if you feel of please message me and alert your teacher alright I love you two." Mom said with all the stuff going on she's been telling us to be careful a lot. Me and Eliza walk into school and go separate ways to our classes she's only on hallway down since we're in different grades however mom did try and get us to be as close to each other as possible she thinks that will prevent anything bad happen so the best she could do was have the school let us eat lunch during the same time.

Later at lunch me and Eliza take our seats next to each other and start eating the spaghetti our mom packed for us when I noticed Eliza sat straight up and froze I immediately noticed and started to panic her eyes start glowing blue and some other students saw to she put her hand out and then her lunch bad and the food started floating.

"Teacher!" I yelled focusing on my sister I put my hand on her and I was pushed out of my seat by some random force.After I fell Eliza fell straight out of her seat I already knew what was going to happen after seeing what happened to Angelica. Teachers and the principal all ran to Eliza and took her out of the room I was in shock I couldn't move I felt my heart racing and tears streaming down my face a teacher came over and helped me up and walked me out as well.After an hour in the hospital they told us Eliza was gone our family was in more pain than ever.I couldn't believe that my sister my favorite people were gone...just like that gone.
    After a year almost all of the worlds children were dead the children who did live were special these children had powers and at one point that was everyone's fantasy but now it's a curse and a deathwish however so far I'm among those who don't have any abilities I'm normal.My parents won't send me to school anymore with everything going on we homeschool now it's not bad but it is boring and hard to focus on with everything else going on.

"I'm going to the store do you two need anything?" My dad says.

"Can you get some eggs please we're almost out oh and if your lucky some water bottles." My mom says.

"Can I please go with you please it's been forever since I've been outside please." I say asking my dad.

"You we're outside yesterday." My mom says.

"In the back yard I want to go out in public." I say.

"Fine but this is going to be one of the few times you go." She says. I get excited and quickly out my shoes on and put my mask on.Once we get to the store I realize how bad everything is all of the shelves are half empty but that didn't stop people from coming it was still packed as always. As I was looking around I bumped into some guy after I caught my balance I looked at him and his eyes were looking straight through mine it looked like he was in a trance.

"Orange! There's an orange right here! Somebody get help call the police!" Some lady yelled she was looking at me with panic and the guy who was looking at me was walking away slowly with a look of panic in him. My dad hold my hand and runs out do the store with me we quickly get in the car and my dad takes off.

"What the hell happened!" He yells.

"I...I don't know." I say.

"To hell with that what happened."

"I bumped into this guy and he just stared at me and never looked away until some lady was yelling orange.What does that mean what's orange I know it's a fruit but why would she call me that?" I ask.

"It doesn't deal with fruit honey for some children they have colors that mean different things however that lady must have confused you with some one else." He says. After that about 5 cop cars and 1 big metal truck is driving behind us.

"Crap." My dad says and starts to speed up. I look back and then forwards and in front of us they had more cop cars about another 5 my dad stops the car hard a little hard the car started spinning out of control and flipped over.My while body hurt and I felt blood on my head and arm I couldn't move I was in alot of pain I look over to my dad to see if he was ok but he looked limped.

"Dad?" I ask. No response but it looks like he's breathing I can hear people talking and I know they arnt friendly they hurt my dad I try and crawl out of the window it hurt a lot but I did it as soon as I got out I ran away as quickly as I could I've learned a lot about death recently and I wasn't going to let myself die a bunch of people came running after me with guns in there hands I ran into the little forest I know it would be smart to hid there.I started to run extra fast and took quick turns and eventually found a really good hiding spot so I obviously hid there and sure enough the people passed me and I just sat there and caught my breath I figured it was safe to just stay in place and wait for it to be safe
