In The Wrong

Alex couldn't control his anger when Lhong told him that Mew won't allow the marriage. He wouldn't budge from his decision. He couldn't go against Mew. He could destroy his company if he wanted. He was that powerful in the business world. He wasn't afraid of him but he knew he couldn't cross Mew the wrong way.

He had loved Gulf for a very long time but couldn't have him. Gulf rejected all his advances. He tried use his money and influence but nothing worked. Then during a party while Gulf was drunk he told Alex that he had crush on Mew but couldn't tell him because he was in relationship.

Alex couldn't let go of Gulf. So he asked Lhong for help. At first Lhong refused but when he told about Gulf's drunken confession Lhong was on board with his plan. He was too possessive over Mew. He wouldn't let him even talk to other guys and girls.

He knew Lhong will the only one to make Mea lose his rationality. He almost got Gulf but Mew ruined it at the last moment. He did not only stop the wedding, he forbade him to even meet Gulf. How dare he do that? He was going to make Mew pay.

Mew was wondering how was he going to apologize to Gulf. He knew he didn't deserve any forgiveness but still Gulf deserved to hear the apology. He went over to Gulf's flat. He had pulled some strings and got Gulf his job back and his flat. He made sure Gulf didn't know because he would have never accepted any help from him, rightfully so.

Gulf had just showered when the door bell rang. It was quite late who could it be at this hour? When he saw Mew standing there with a box in his hand, he wanted to shut the door in his face.

"Gulf, can I come inside? I want to talk to you about something. "

"I have nothing to say to you. "

"Please Gulf, just listen to me once. "

"That's what I said to earlier. Do you remember? How you shouted at Mr without listening to me?"

Mew hung his head low. He knew he had treated Gulf unfairly but he still hoped Gulf would let him in.

Gulf looked at Mew's sad expression and relented.

"Fine, but I can't say I'll forgive you at all."

Mew entered the flat after Gulf. He looked around and was taken aback at minimalistic furniture inside the flat.

"Did not get all the furnitures from your friend's house? "

"These are all I have."

"But -"

"What?"

Mew quickly shut his mouth. He knew if he said something about him having too little it will sound rude and make him look like a jerk. He just wanted that Gulf could live his life to the best. When his parents was alive, Gulf had everything but after their death his greedy relatives took off with almost everything. It made him sad to see Gulf living with just basic necessities.

He wanted him have luxury of everything. He wanted to give him the world, make his pain go away and comfort him when he needed. He wanted to take care of him and soothe his pain. He hated himself for how he had acted before. He wished he could change it all and made Gulf his and lo-

Mew stopped short. What the hell was he thinking? Where were his thoughts running to? He had Lhong, he couldn't think like that about another guy. What was wrong with him?
Yes, he was apologetic to Gulf but the way he got carried off, it wasn't good. He needs to get hold of himself.

Gulf kept stealing glances at Mew. He wasn't acting like his usual confident self. He seemed deep in thought. Array of expressions marred his features. Gulf couldn't decipher what Mew was thinking. He didn't expect him to come here to apologize.

"Gulf, I talked to Alex and he won't bother you anymore. Lhong told me that you took advantage of Alex and foolishly believed him. That's why I forced you to marry him. I ran a background check on him and got to know what sort of bastard he is. "

"Do you expect me to thank you? "

"Of course not. I just want to say I'm sorry, Gulf. I don't expect you to forgive me. I just wanted to tell you that. What I did was terrible. No matter the reason I had no right to force you to marry anyone. I'm sorry for threatening your friend. It was such a despicable thing to do and I regret it a lot.

I won't make any excuses, Gulf. I did wrong and I regret it. Gulf, I really love Lhong. He was there for me when I had no one. When I going through all that mess, he took care of me. He sacrificed a lot for me. I want to protect him from everything. When he told me you tried to harrass him. I lost it. I know that doesn't justify anything. I should have still tried to listen to your side and discover the truth.

But I couldn't think straight. He looked in so much pain and it hurt me. It felt like I couldn't protect him. That was really painful. I never thought Lhong would lie to me and that too about something like that. I couldn't understand why would he do that. So I accussed you without even thinking. I'm sorry for that."

"Did Lhong tell you the truth?"

"No."

"Then why do you believe me suddenly? "

"Well, I heard him talking to Alex. And from little conversation I could hear it was apparent that he had lied to me. He had falsely accused you. I haven't talked to him yet. I thought first thing I should do is apologize to you. "

"You have done that so leave."

"I'm sorry, Gulf. More than you can know. If there any way I can repent for my wrongdoing, please let me know. I'll do it. If you want to punish me in any way, you can. I won't say no."

"Any way? You won't say no? No matter what?"

"Yes, I won't go back on my words. I owe it to you after everything I have put you through. I'll do my best to make you feel better. If you don't want to forgive me that's okay. But if you want to punish me then go ahead."

"Let me think about it. Now get out."

After Mew left Gulf sat down with a glass of wine. That conversation had been emotionally draining. He was glad Mew knew truth now. He was happy when Mew apologized to him but he wasn't ready to forgive yet. Maybe he will never be ready for that. But for now he felt at peace. He was going to punish Mew and it was going to be fun.
