* * *
I awoke to the sound of birds chirping, and the smell of coffee being brewed. I got up, put on some socks, and walked downstairs. Like every morning, mom was sitting at her desk, doing work on her laptop. "Can I go to Madeline's house today?" I asked happily. "Sure! Have fun!"
I got dressed in a Tee Shirt, athletic shorts, and tennis shoes. I ran outside to see Madeline already in her front yard waiting for me, wearing the same outfit. I walked inside, telling mom that we were going on a walk, and Madeline did the same. After we both met back in her front yard, we started our walk.
We passed a girl doing flips in her yard. We also saw a girl and boy playing soccer in their huge backyard. "I wish I did a sport," said Madeline. "It looks so fun. Can you teach me soccer?" I told her it would be hard, but yes.
* * * A WEEK LATER * * *
I couldn't fall asleep. It was 1:47 in the morning, and I had school tomorrow. I got up, went downstairs, and got a glass of water. I drank it slowly, thinking about everything. School was going great, we haven't talked about moving in awhile, and my friendship with Madeline couldn't be better. After thinking about how great things were going, I went back upstairs and went to sleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
The next morning was great. I woke up, got ready for school, and waited for the bus to come before going outside, because it was pouring rain.
I met Madeline in her front yard, and we walked to the bus together, not even caring that we were getting soaked.
At lunch, me and Madeline sat with a girl named Mattie, she was in all of our classes. She did cheerleading, and always talked about it. But me and Madeline didn't mind.
Madeline and I got off the bus and started walking to my house, and that's when I saw it. There was a small, furry looking figure in the kitchen window. "Do you see that?" I asked Madeline. "YES!" She said "It looks like a puppy!" We started running as fast as we could.
When we got to the door, we heard cheerful voices inside, and one sounded like dad. We walked through the door, and I saw it. Not only was there a tiny dog, but dad was standing in the kitchen. It wasn't long since I saw him last, but I still ran over and hugged him. "Who is this?" Madeline asked. "This is our new puppy!" Mom said with a big smile. Madeline introduced herself to dad, and we talked about the new dog, and how school was going. Then, Madeline and I finished our homework, played outside with the dog, and then the day was over.
