Hi, 

This work originated from my extreme obsession with Korean Dramas. So despite being an Indian and never having been to Korea, I wrote this novel. But you can read the novel even if you are unfamiliar with South Korea and its culture. It can be like any other romance novel.

And for those who are unfamiliar with the addressing systems, I am giving a small introduction to the addressing system and words : 

1. The respect level – The word 'shi' is added at the end of names to call with respect. Adding 'shi' at the end is the same as adding Mr/Ms to a name in English or 'ji' in Hindi. Calling with 'aa' at the end means the person is close with you/is affectionate calling.

2. Profession terms – In Korea people are referred with their profession/position in a company. So if someone is a CEO, he will be called CEO. If someone is a movie director, he will be addressed as 'director' all the time. The main two used in this novel are CEO and Director. Korean word for CEO if the company is 'Tae-Pyo' and for a movie director is 'Kham-dong'. But adding a 'nim' at the end of these terms is necessary. Adding 'nim' to anything will add more respect. 'Nim' is on a higher level of respect than 'shi'. You can add it to names as well if you want to address someone with that much respect. So adding 'nim' at the end will make CEO: Tae-pyo-nim and Movie director: kham-dong-nim.

3. Usual terms :

a. Oppa – older guy/older male/older brother (for girls)

b. Unni – older girl /older female/older sister (for girls)

c. Hyung – Older guy/older male/older brother (for guys)

d. Nuna – older girl/older female/older sister (for guys)

e. Ajjumma – aunty/middle-aged lady

f. Ajjushi – uncle/middle-aged man

g. Omma – mom

h. Appa - dad

And this is not so much important, but...

All ages used in this story are according to the Korean Age system.

Korean Age system is different from the rest of the world. The babies are 1 year old when they are born. And they turn two as the year changes to next year. For example, Baby A is born in June 2018. Baby B is born in September 2018. Baby C is born in December 2018. All three are 1 year old while 2018 is running. But all three of them turn 2 on Jan1 2019. They are 2 years old in 2019. 3 years old in 2020, 4 years old in 2021. And so on. The birthdays are not taken into account for age. The year change is. So that everyone born in the same year has the same age. Everyone's age goes up a number (Age+1) on Jan 1.
