Forgotten Night

Flashback #2

"Where is Oppa?" Yuri asked me in her tiny irritated voice.

"Yuri aa..." I turned to her. "Since there is a lot of people around you should not ever leave Unni's hand, okay?" I grabbed her tiny hand a bit more securely. "If Yuri gets lost in the crowd mom and Unni won't be able to find you."

"Okay," she said. We had come to a concert of BLUE. BLUE was becoming really popular. Just under a year after their debut, they already had about a million fans. And so the concert place was packed.

"Isn't that YuJin?" Mom asked. I turned to look. And YuJin Oppa was coming to us. He waved us. We walked to them. Yuri forgets her promise at once and left my hand and ran to our brother with open arms crying, "Oppa....." YuJin Oppa lifted her up in his arms with such a big smile, "Oppa's princess..." he called her with love. He spoils her too much... "YuBin Unni scolded me again," the first thing Yuri did was to complain about me. "She always scolds me."

"Why do you scold the kid?" Oppa snapped at me.

"Somebody needs to. And she was eating crayons. Should I not scold her over that?"

"Oh, Yuri aa... You should not eat crayons..." YuJin Hyung began to tell her in a loving voice. And I analyzed Oppa. He was wearing a stage costume. My brother was not that good looking, but I felt he looked really smart and okay that day. I smiled. And Mom seemed prouder than I am. We were coming to his live concert for the first time.

"Come, I will introduce you to my group members." YuJin Hyung said excitedly. "Mom, come on in..."

"I want to see Kay..." Yuri said, "I love Kay." We walked into BLUE's waiting room, where I could see five boys in a similar outfit as my brothers, practising their lyrics. "Guys, this is my family..." Oppa said and everyone turned to us. They bowed to greet us and chanted 'hello' in perfect unison as they are used to greet everyone in unison. They crowded near us and we were standing now in a circle, as Oppa was introducing our mom to everyone. Yuri was excited to meet Kay and he pushed past me to go to Kay, and I was slightly pushed against and almost fell over one of the guys whose name was Kim WooHyun. He grabbed my shoulder to prevent me from falling over. "Are you okay?" he asked in a concerned voice. And I looked up to his face. And literally, my heart skipped for a second.

Okay, so first of all I should say I am not boy crazy. I have met guys. And there are tons in my school. And I was never affected by any one of them. But there should be a limit to being handsome. Coz the guy was breathtakingly handsome. He had perfect skin that almost gleamed. Perfect jawline. Perfect lips. Perfect hair that fell to his forehead, and those eyes... Those eyes should be banned from existing on this earth – slightly bigger than normal jet black twinkling iris, and almond-shaped eyes. They were innocent yet naughty. And beautiful.

I mean, I always knew he was handsome, and I have seen many of his photos. But to see it in real from this close, my 17-year-old heart could not take that and did stop just for a second.

But that made me flustered and nervous so I moved back from him at once. "Yes. I am okay. Thank you," I said politely. He nodded and went to join the guys who were petting Yuri.

And I was glad that some physical distance came between us. Guys like that are just better on screen. It destroys my coolness to have them that close. I don't want them just 3 inches away from me like that.

I cleared my throat and got back to my usual cool state.
