Forgotten Night

Chapter 11

During the shoot, I really could not concentrate. Because YuBin was just there. Standing among the crew. I could not stop feeling this flutter inside me. I could not resist looking at her every now and then. I could not keep a smile off my lips.

As a result, I was making mistakes and always having to take retakes. That was not good. It was just the first day of the shoot. I needed to concentrate more. I can't be a nuisance to the director and my co-actors. I was saying 'sorry' a thousand times whenever I was making a mistake.

"What the hell is up with you?" YuBin hissed at me with anger when we had gone for a break.

"I can't concentrate with you here," I told her. It's not my fault. 

Oh...

That's understandable. The emotions he needs to come up with in the scene are of pain despair and anger. But when he looks at me, he smiles. Whenever his eyes met with mine while he is acting, he makes mistakes, and the director calls cut. And he keeps taking glances at me throughout this day.

"I can't help feeling happy inside," he said.

Did I pick the wrong time to start our 'whatever this was...'? I mean, if he is too happy like this, he will have a difficult time acting in this role. And I can't do this to him. He should be acting really good for this movie.

But at the same time, I really wanted to see him act. I always stay by him when he acts. And monitor it and tell him what he may need to do to improve it. And this was such a major work. And I was so damn reluctant to walk away and give him some space to concentrate.

"Any problem?" The director suddenly walked to us. We looked at him. "Are you two dating?" He asked. I was so stunned that I could not say anything. "Pardon, sir?" Hyun asked.

"Just...I felt like that." Khamdongnim said. "I mean, I am not saying it's wrong or anything. You two seem like a sweet couple. And romance is something we all need in our life. I consider it as a basic need like food and water." He was an artist. We can sense that he was an artist and such a great person. "But it seems like your love is being a hindrance to the role."

"Sorry, Sir." Hyun apologized sincerely. "I am really sorry. I will be more careful. I will do better in the next take."

"No. It's difficult for you as long as she is around." He said pointing at me with a smile. "And I don't blame you, she is a really beautiful woman."

I was feeling embarrassed but I still smiled at the compliment. Kim Ki Ryul khamdongnim was a really nice personality whom everyone will like and respect.

"So you two figure out what you can do." He told us and walked away. Hyun turned to me.

"I will go away," I said to him. "I'll leave."

"What? No." He looked alarmed.

"Relax, Hyun aa..." I touched his hand. "You need to concentrate on your work for now. And for that, I need to stay away. I know that." He looked nervous. He pressed onto my hand.

"Let TaeHo be your manager for a few days," I said. "Until you get comfortable with this role, I need to stay away."

"But I will be really busy with shooting for a few days. I won't have time to meet you. If you are not my manager while working, we won't be able to meet."

"That's okay," I said. "And that is better. Because you need to keep your character outside shoot as well. You will lose the perfection if you go back to be happy when the camera is not on you. Good actors do not let anything distract them. They live as the character until the work is finished."
