Chapter-17

Two weeks had passed since their rescue mission ended with success and the enemy nations, in the hope to inflict significant damage on Land of Fire forces, by killing off one of the Konoha's power houses, had failed miserably and retreated in confusion.

The last analysis test. It was an extreme trial for those who had survived the torture & returned from hell. This was the speciality of analysis team from Konoha Intelligence Division.

Kakashi was detained in Konoha HQ T&I department after his recovery a week ago. There was something about his ridiculous recovery speed, being able to recover fully in two week. It was difficult to believe that his body was seriously damaged and was on the brink of death two weeks ago.

Inoichi Yamakana, he was the deputy head of HQ analysis team. He was the expert in extraction of information directly from an target's mind, this time his sole mission was to find out whether Kakashi Hatake who got captured at the front line didn't reveal any confidential information during torture and also to make sure he wasn't under the high mind manipulation jutsu that would make him go against his own nation.

"Hokage sama, shall we start?"

Hiruzen nodded at the Inoichi to proceed. Minato looked at him with pale face.

"Minato, you don't have to stay. I can verify things alone. I am sure he will pass this test."

"I need to stay, this is at least something I should do as his sensei and team leader."

Inoichi hesitated for a moment before asking, he had thought this was a cruel process for the kid to re-experience all the trauma that he had gone through during that time.

"Kakashi Hatake, is there anything you want to say before we started?"

"I am fine, everything I stated is true, this will verify anything. So pls continue."

Inoichi put his hands on Kakashi's head to read his memories, with Inoichi and his team's help, Hokage and Minato probed Kakashi's mind, rapidly going through his memories at Ame base before arriving at the revelation that Kakashi didn't give away any information as he stated in the interrogation.

They were deeply moved by Kakashi, both Minato & Hiruzen felt sad and proud at the same time, when they witnessed the torture, starvation & dehumanisations that took place there wasn't a joke.

This kind of systematic torture that had designed to implant fear and break person's spirit, Kakashi seemed unfazed by that. He didn't show the enemy any sight of his weakness even in his lowest moment.

"I guess I pass the test, right?"

"Yes, you are. And with flying colours. I am proud of you. Kakashi."

"Inoichi, Kakashi is free to go, he has proven his loyalty much enough."

Hiruzen stated with an unexplainable expression and leave the room.

"Kakashi..."

Minato formed a dazed expression for a bit, before continuing his words.

"I am sorry for everything."

"Come on Minato sensei, this isn't your fault, let's say, I have high pain tolerance and I managed it out alive, this is fine now."

"I am hungry, can I come with you to your house? I'd been craving home-cooked meals these days."

Minato tried to smile at Kakashi's reply, hiding his useless emotions behind a smile.

"Yes, I will ask Kushina to cook for all of us. Let 's get out of here."
