Chapter 9/Demon Child

"Hirota Taichou, I would like to ask you a favor."

Minato shouted, just as the door to the room swung open -  Hirota and other Jonin stopped their discussion at the certain sunshine person's sudden entrance.

"Ah, Minato, what's wrong?"

Hirota said, at the same time giving him the look of - this better be important enough to break into my room like that.

"Hirota Taichou, it's Kakashi, I want to take him back to Konoha for treatment."

"Of course, it was Kakashi." Hirota muttered to himself. That blonde cared a lot about his own comrade, especially his favourite one Kakashi, since the time the kid got badly injured at the battle last week, he had been worried sick.

"Why? I heard that Kakashi is already recovering well. Come on Minato, he's demon child, Jonin like you guys, he's a lot tougher than you think he is."

"I know, Taichou, I am not talking about his injuries, I believe he's suffering from extreme PTSD. The toll this war took on his soul was heartbreaking to see. He's still very young, You've already heard about what he did in the battle, haven't you? Taichou."

Everyone sighed, what Minato said was true. The kid was feared as demon child even among their battalion, due to his merciless, insanity acts in battles. Kakashi even got promoted to Jonin rank after one year in the battalion, making him the youngest Jonin of the history. Before Kakashi, Minato was the record holder being a Jonin at the age of 15, now his own student surpassed him. 

They had always known the kid not being normal, but his body counts were terrifying even for his own team. Konoha had won the last battle with Kumo & Suna, especially thanks to their battalion power houses- the yellow flash and the demon kid. 

Kakashi showed his insanity in the battle against Suna, while Minato and Hirota were leading other battle fields. Although they didn't expect Sasori of the Red Sand to show up in the battle, Kakashi and other team leaders were still able to mount a counter-offensive that drove Suna forces across back to their border but both sides suffered heavily from the war, resulting over 1000 deaths in both sides.

Kakashi had shown his apparent insanity and unpredictability in the battle, the enemy forces always felt threatened by his character, rendered him sane by several means. The deadly fight between Sasori and Kakashi, other Jonin leaders was the major decisive factor of the battle. Kakashi got poisoned by one of Sasori puppets, but he kept fighting Sasori despite his injuries, he was a berserker whose only goals was to kill the enemy, his tendency to kill many high ranking ones, his demonic appearance caused by his rage, made everyone feel shivers down their spines. 

Their offensive counter attacks were successful and managed to deal major fatal blow on Sasori, who was the commander of Suna forces, resulting the exhausted Suna forces were forced to suspend their offensive for a certain period after the defeats of their two months of fierce battles in increasingly harsh weather.

"Okay, Minato, Do you want him to take a break? I think it would be fine. currently we are kind of in the middle of cease fire thanks to you guys effort. I think his team also deserve a break. I mean they've been together on the battle field for almost two years."

"Thanks Hirota Taichou, Can I also accompany him for a week or two back at Konoha? Please"

He stood waiting tensely for Hirota's decision on whether he could approve his absence in the battalion or not.

"I see no problem, It's about time for our war council meeting back at the village? Do you mind giving reports to Hokage for me?"

"Oh, just one thing, can you say hello to Kushina?" Hirota said, smiling at Minato. Minato's face turned red at the comment as he nodded. Hirota Taichou knew these love birds since he and Minato were in the Anbu. They were a lovely couple, and they were always fun to be around with.
