«Time skip to December»
The hype of Gryffindor winning the first Quidditch game has died down and now everyone was excited for Christmas to come.
The whole of Hogwarts grounds were covered in thick snow and Cassia smiled as Hagrid dragged in the massive Christmas tree he had cut down.
Cassia and Carla were helping Flitwick sort out all the Christmas decorations and ornaments and they eventually started to decorate the tree once it was up.
As Cassia was hovering in the air by Flitwick using Wingardium Leviosa, she placed baubles and tinsel around the tree. But for some reason, she could feel someone's eyes on her. So, when she turned her head, she spotted Harry leaning on his hand, gazing up at her.
Cassia shook her head and snickered when Ron pulled Harry's hand out from under his chin and hit his head on the table. Harry groaned in pain and Ron stated.
"That's what you get for staring at Cassia for 2 hours. She's gonna think you're a weirdo or something. All you do is stare at her and talk about her and try to get her to go out with you. She practically hates you, mate."
Harry scoffed and rolled his eyes, he disregarded Ron's statement and piped up.
"I'm going to go over there and give her a Christmas present. I've heard she's going home for Christmas, so I want her to have it before she goes."
Ron sighed and watched as Harry excitedly got up from the table and ran over to Cassia with a box in his hand. He stretched his neck up to see her wrap some lights around the tree. He called out to her.
"Cass? I've got you a present."
Cassia paused for a minute before sighing and Flitwick used his wand to help her down. When she reached the ground, Harry passed her the box.
Cassia cautiously opened the box, hoping nothing would pop out at her. But she was taken aback when a beautiful necklace was there instead. She pulled it out and held it in her hand, staring at it in awe.
Her mouth opened and she stated.
"I appreciate this gift, Potter. It's extremely beautiful, thank you. But why do you get me gifts. I know it's Christmas, but you randomly got me one when I had broken my shoulder. It wasn't a special occasion."
Harry put his hands in his pocket and replied.
"Well, because a pretty girl like you deserves to recieve gifts. Whether it be Christmas or not. And you're welcome, there's plenty more where that came from."
Before she could talk any more, Harry turned on the heels of his feet and walked off, holding a big smile as he sat back at the table with Ron, who was waiting as it was Harry's turn at chess.
Cassia still held the necklace in her hand, not knowing what to do with it. But Carla appeared next to her and smirked.
"I have a feeling that as we get older, he will be giving you a lot more gifts."
She then gasped and added on.
"Oh my, he could be your sugar daddy when you get older!"
Cassia immediately went red and her mouth dropped and eyes widened, she shrieked in shock.
"Carla Marie Jennings! How on earth do you know about "sugar daddy's"? You're 11."
Carla giggled and winked, she then changed the subject.
"Come on, Flitwick said he'd finish off the decorating. We've got a train to catch, I can't wait to meet your parents."
Cassia smiled and linked arms with Carla before responding.
"Alright, and I know, they'd be happy to meet my best friend too. But what about your parents? You'll be missing Christmas with them."
Carla sighed and explained.
"It's no biggie. Besides, they treat me like vermin. They probably haven't even got me a present, they didn't for the past Christmas' and birthdays."
Cassia looked at her best friend in sadness and sympathy, she also noticed that Carla was frowning. So she cheered her up.
"Well, you'll be getting plenty of presents at mine and you'll feel welcomed with my family. Come on."
Carla lit up and smiled brightly before walking with Cassia, they both had their arms linked and their trunks were in their free hands.
They joined up with Sam and got on the train, extremely excited to go home for Christmas. They spent most of the journey talking about Christmas food, presents, etc.
