Chapter 15

After the incident with Marcus I just had to call Ivan. I jumped on him and cried on his shoulder.
       I really miss you, I said as I cried. He hugged me tightly, stroking my hair.
           I like the new hairstyle, he said staring at me. I hit him playfully.
      Why did I have to get powers? I wish everything was different, I said.
    So you don't want to know me? He asked.
       That's not what I meant and you know it, I said and he just smirked. He lay beside me on the bed and we kissed.
      I'll be here for the war okay and everything will be fine, just be prepared, he said.
      Can you stay with me? I asked. He nodded and then we switched off the lamp. I closed my eyes and slept off.
When I woke up, he wasn't there. I changed into a sweatshirt and jeans then went to meet Kadee. Clearly, she hadn't slept at all.
      He keeps on visiting, she said.
         It'll stop, I promised.
  We need to get ready for the war. Training for all the students, I said and she nodded.
   The training started minutes later. I was certain that we would win but more was yet to come.......
    Ivan came once again to meet me. We made out and we lay on the bed together.
          Marcus is with Marina, he said.
         Don't bring it up, I said feeling sleepy. I put my head on his chest and breathed in. His hand was on my hair while the other was around my waist.
       I have to go, he said.
           Don't leave me please, I said and hugged him tightly. I tried to stay awake but sleep was taking over. I finally closed my eyes but had a nightmare.
      " Ivan stared at me, he stood next to Marina and kissed her.
      We were never meant to be, he said.
      But I thought you loved me?, I asked.
      It was all fake. Marina is my one true love, he said."
I opened my eyes but he wasn't there. I was sweating badly. I climbed off the bed panting. I felt dizzy. I started to fall but someone caught me.
          Be careful!
I raised my head and saw Ivan. I hugged him and started crying.
     I told you not to leave, I said. He didn't respond but held me tightly.
    I'll stay with you for two days only, he said and I nodded. I fell asleep with no bad dreams knowing that my love was here to protect me.
