You'll be just fine.

Puffy sits down at the coffee table and smiles at Sam as she pulls out her journal, an anxious look on her face. "You okay Puffy? Is there something on your mind?" Sam's voice breaks her away from her book, her gaze leading to the man as she fiddles with her sleeve.

"Well, what I've been thinking is who on the server never lets their guard down and never releases their feelings?" Puffy's eyes bore into her journal as she talked to Sam, him listening to her therapy rambling. "Purpled and Punz, both of them are mercenaries and leave to jobs for weeks at a time, if I can get one of them to come to therapy, maybe I can get the other to come too, but first I need to figure out was goes on in their minds." Her pen was tracing along the paper, the words being the same she had just said.

"Well if you need something to read minds, I might be able to help, I just finished it but, I made a mind reader. All you have to do is connect it to your communicator, then put a little chip on someone's head, and you'll be able to hear their thoughts." Sam smiled as he pulled out his newest gadget, then sliding them over to Puffy and showing her some of the mechanics.

"You can use this to shoot the chip onto the person, or you can just do it manually, it won't hurt at all, and they won't even know it was put on them. I'm actually really proud of this one, it took a long time to build, it would be an honor to have you use it." Sam smiled warmly at Puffy, who smiled back while shoving the gadget into her purse.

"Thank you Sam, this will help a lot." Puffy gets up and pulls Sam into a hug, showing her appreciation for the man. "It's really nothing, I can help you with it if you want?" She nods happily, she would finally be able to help the two mercenaries on the server.

He watched the man fall to the ground, the hole in his chest spewing out blood, the kid next to him fell, too, the kid had grabbed onto her father. "Your a monster!" The kid spat at him, he already knew that. He had been a monster for all his life.

"I know." He turned around, guilt twisted in his stomach, he was ordered to kill the man infront of his daughter, but it still hurt. No matter how much he was paid, he could never not feel guilty for the thousands of deaths that he had caused.

"I believe that everyone can change, why can't you?" The words left him stunned for a few seconds, his brain taking awhile to register the sentence. "How can I change, if all I know is how to be a monster?" He didn't let the kid finish, just walked away in a fast pace.

His horse was still in the stall he paid for, and he quickly retrieved his stallion. He effortlessly hopped onto the horse and ran out of the village.

Jealousy bubbled in his stomach, it was so peaceful there, no war, no death, no manipulators. It was a perfect town, a place he wished he grew up in, but of course, life doesn't ever go his way.

--------

He tied his horse to the fence next to the cabin, he didn't feel the gadget become connected to his head. He ran his hand through the stallion's brown hair, and then walked towards the lake.

He shoved his hands under the water and rubbed them raw, he always hated the sight of blood. Then he went towards his cabin door.

The second he opened the door to the dusty cabin, he was tackled by a ball of fur who began licking him. He didn't smile, he couldn't smile, but the dog knew he was happy, sometimes it felt like Dogchamp could read his mind.

"Hey buddy, sorry I was gone for so long. I'll be back sooner next time." It was an empty promise, he couldn't control how long he was away for. Only his employer could.

Purpled moved over into his chest monster, it used to be organised but he had eventually gave up and just threw everything in different chests. He went through the chests, trying to find his chest of mail and letters, more or less his jobs.

He pulled out a book and skimmed through it, putting it in his inventory he shrugged, and went up to his bed to sleep. It was a simple job that wouldn't take too long, he just had to kill a few people in like a cult or something. (Apparently they worshipped the moon or something and didn't sleep?)

Yes I am making a Hermitcraft reference in the middle of a oneshot, fuck you.

Purpled drifted to a dreamless sleep, Dogchamp sleeping right next to him and take up most of the pillow.

The next morning was weird, he had an itch on the back of his head but could never seem to get rid of it. He almost had an existential crisis because it brought back memories of the mercenary camp he and Punz went to as a child.

Almost an hour later he heard a knock on the door, he opened it to find a target he had given up on, not willing to do anything for the eggpire. He grimaced but let her in and sat her at his table, extremely dusty because when he did eat, it was at the counter.

"Care to tell me why you're here Puffy?" She smiled warmly and Purpled almost just went over to her and basked in that warmth, but he was stronger than that, so he didn't.

Puffy put her hoof on his hand, he locked eye contact with her, knowing all the exits of his own house he didn't need to analyse the room they were in. "Purpled I'm here because, you're not okay, like everyone else in this damned empire. And I want to help you."

Purpled let out a quiet chuckle, "Puffy, I'll give you one minute to leave, I know that I'm not fine, but I don't care and I never will. So leave my cabin."

"Please Purpled, I just want to help you heal from everything that is going on in this crazed empire." She rubbed his hand and he found himself calming down a bit, not as aware of his surroundings.

"Puffy, I said it once I'll say it again, leave. Or I'll make you." Purpled growled, reaching for his sword.

She put a gentle hand on his shoulder and rubbed it, he leaned into the touch, almost closing his eyes, then she pulled him in for a hug, and he tried to pull out but he couldn't.

"Purp, if you come with me, I promise, you'll be just fine." She smiled that warm smile again and Purpled found himself leaning into the hug a bit more.
