Bobby stared down at Cain's lifeless body for what seemed like hours, but he was sure that only a few minutes had passed. The sun rose from the back of him, casting his shadow over Cain's body and Lindsay's now headless body, Bobby noticed the blood from her severed neck still squirting out. He swallowed the bile that was inching its way up his throat and quickly turned his head away, squeezing his eyes shut. He didn't want to look at their bodies anymore, he didn't even want to believe this was real.He walked back the way they came from to escape The Pumpkin King, once he got to the opening of the crop field, he saw multiple police cars there, some with their siren lights still on.
He saw fire engines in the distance too, the firefighters putting out the blaze with rivers of water spilling out from their hoses.
The police officers noticed him and went over to make sure if he was okay, once they did. They took him down to the station to be questioned extensively. The police were confused as to how Bobby was the only survivor, especially considering he was shorter than average for his age.
Bobby told them that it was just a crazy guy wearing a pumpkin head who named himself The Pumpkin King. Out of curiosity, Bobby asked what had happened to Ned and Cain's bandmates to which their response was "your guess is as good as mine." Bobby assumed then that Cain had probably eaten them whole, maybe. It didn't seem impossible after all, he had watched him rip off Lindsay's head and eaten it, so anything was possible.
The police of course, were very suspicious of Bobby. They tried to use many tactics to get him to confess to the murders, even going so far as to use his race and his love of horror against him. None of those things worked however, and since they found no DNA on any of the weapons used, or even on the bottle of gasoline, they couldn't frame him.
The majority of the reason why he was let go months after the investigation wasn't because of a lack of substantial evidence, Bobby believed that even if there was nothing at the scene that could incriminate him, he knew the police would've framed him either way - because it just seemed too obvious that he was the one who did it. No. It was because his parents were wealthy, extremely wealthy. They'd managed to pull some strings and got him out of the messy investigation.
Once they did, his parents tried to convince him to get out of Misty Way and move to California to start over anew, where no one there knew his name and what he'd been through. But Bobby had declined, he wanted very much to stay in Misty Way, even though news had gotten out that he was potentially the one who killed everyone at camp sunshine. It was a very big deal in a small town like this, everyone by now knew that Bobby was the lone survivor of the massacre and that had aroused suspicion and rumours began to surface. This caused Bobby's family to be sent tons of threats, mostly from dumb teenagers though.
This also in turn caused Bobby's parents to be worried for his safety, but he reassured them that it'll all blow over. And it did. The following year Bobby had a brand new group of friends and even a girlfriend, they were all very close and spent a lot of time together. But would this happiness last, or would it end in disaster again?
Only time will tell.
The End.
