I woke up to Emmet shaking me awake.

"What the hell dude!" I groan and sit up.

"Mornin' Rowboat, you ready for some baseball?" Emmet threw some clothes on the edge of the bed, winked, and walked out. I slowly got up and changed. I walked out and found Emmet and Rose waiting for me. I decided to forgive Rose for last night. I didn't have the energy to be mad at her.

"Let's go Row, I need to stretch before I absolutely crush Emmets team," Rose says, walking towards the garage. 

"Oh as if!" Emmet scoffs and follows her. I stumbled after them. I look around the garage confused, Emmets Jeep was gone.

"Edward took it," Emmet says, looking at me, "We're going to run there" 

I groan, if I wasn't tired enough, throwing up on Emmets back was going to make things worse. Emmet chuckles and picks me up effortlessly. I secured my arms around his neck before he took off. Normally this was a fun experience, but it just reminded me of all the times Edward and I did this. I buried my face in Emmet's neck as he ran, my hair flying all over the place.

When we stopped, I didn't let go. Instead, I swung around so that now I was hanging on Emmet's chest like I was giving him a hug with my legs up. 

"You okay Rowboat?" Emmet questioned, resting against a tree.

"Hm? Yeah! Um, Yep!" I pull myself together and drop to the floor, not so gracefully.

Emmet raises his brow but says nothing. Together, with Rose, we walk into the field. 

In the field, I see Carlisle, Esme, Alice, Jasper, Edward, and of course, Bella. I sigh and look up at Emmet. He grabbed my hand and gave it a comforting squeeze. 

"Aww! Cuteness!" Rose coo-ed and Emmet rolled his eyes, "Anyway, Rowan, don't be bothered by the human, just be confident!" I nodded, as we walked up to Esme, Carlisle, Edward, and Bella. 

"I assume you've already argued about and chosen teams" Esme smiled, and Edward nodded. I tried not to look him in the eye, but couldn't help a few glances.

"Emmet, Alice, Esme, and I on one team, Carlisle, Jasper, Rose on the other" Edward said.  

I roll my eyes, of course, I was never really allowed to play with them because I might get hurt but now I had to sit out with Bella. I skipped towards Esme and Bella, they were chatting about Esme's past. Why was Mom telling this human her entire life story!? 

"Oh there you are Rowan, How was your sleep last night?" Esme asks.

"Meh, I've had better" I sigh, and Bella looks very confused, it's kind of funny. 

"I thought vampires didn't sleep," Bella says. I was about to snap but Esme gave me a glare and I held it back. 

"Rowans a half-vampire" Esme explains, and Bella asks a whole lot more questions but I'm not listening. 

A huge crack knocks me out of my thoughts, we all turn to see Edward and Emmet laughing uncontrollably. Emmet broke one of the baseball bats. 

"Do we have a spare?" Edward shouts, and Esme throws one at them. I then offered to go fetch another one from the house in case someone broke another. 

I stomped through the woods, trying to calm myself down. Suddenly I hear something in the distance, voices. I sprint back to the field.

"No!" Alice cries, and everyone stops playing. Edward rushes to Bella. Emmet grabs me as everyone crowds around Bella and me. 

"What's going on?" Carlisle looks at Alice and Edward.

"Nomads, they heard us playing," Alice says.

"We need to get Bella and Row out of here then!" Esme frantically looks around.

"It's too late" Edward growls. Three figures immerged from the mist and started to walk towards us. I stood next to Rose, a little bit behind her. 

"Hello, I'm Carlisle and this is my family, Jasper, Alice, Emmet, Rose, Rowan, Edward, Bella, and Esme" Dad speaks as the vampires reach us.

"I'm Laurent, these are my companions, James and Victoria" the vampire in the middle speaks. 

"We were just wrapping up, could we ask you not to hunt in our area?" Carlisle says, I can see that all the vampires are intimidated by Emmets huge safe, and I shifted so I was hidden behind him, as I did James looked at me and his nostrils flared.

It was at this moment that I realized I was so exhausted that I hadn't been using my powers, and James could smell my not-so-human blood...
