As it neared night time me and the boys began building the fire, and setting up the chairs around the firepit.
The cycle we had was Riley doing chairs, Hunter getting everything we might need for food and to light the fire. Nico was building the fire, and I was chopping wood.
"Boys the devil has an ax" Riley muses.
"I'm cutting wood shithead what do you think I'll use it for?" I say chopping a log into quarters.
"I don't know honestly" Riley says.
Idiot.
Once everything was finished Hunter lit the fire and we all headed inside.
"Fire is lit" I say walking over to the counter, where I had left my white flannel jacket.
"Perfect" Olivia says walking out the door quickly to head to the firepit.
We all then head down to where the fire blazed lighting up the star lit sky.
"It's beautiful" I hear Olivia muse, and I let out a light laugh as I sit down in my chair.
"You two really are meant for each other" Kate remarks and me and Olivia look over at her with looks that said 'elaborate please'.
"You both find pleasure and happiness in the simplest things in life, like I know damn well that Adrian lives in a palace in the Hamptons but I also know that he had that house expanded for the sake of wanting to make it a home, and you found enjoyment in it, just like small gifts you both prefer over something large an extravagant".
"That is not wrong, I still wear the bracelet that Olivia bought me for Christmas it almost never comes off" I say pulling up the flannel sleeve to show the black rope bracelet I wore everyday.
"I don't take mine off either, It kinda goes with everything" Olivia says.
"Point in case, you two have had those for seven months now" Kate points out.
Oh wow I didn't realize it was that long.
"Livi you also wore my bomber quite a bit in fall" I say picking up an open bottle beside me.
"It's warm" she defends and I just smirk before taking a sip from my bottle.
"Imagine if it was whisky".
"I wouldn't be drinking it if it was" I point out looking over at my friend.
"One wouldn't hurt" Hunter replies.
"It's not even that it would do fuck all to me" I muse taking another sip from it.
"We all know that" Hunter says with a laugh.
As the night continued we all ended up creating a bonfire which was never intended.
"How did we end up with so much wood to burn?" Ava asks.
"That would be my doing but it was supposed to last the whole night not two hours" I say.
"Well we could do the usual" Mia suggests.
"Which is" Riley asks.
"Nico truth or dare" Kate asks.
We're all sixteen or seventeen and we play this game.
"Dare".
"You have to chug a whole bottle of beer".
"Shit" Nico mutters taking the bottle, and attempts to open it, but can't. "I can't open it".
"Nico pass" I say and he does as I ask before I take the bottle, and tap the cap on the edge of the fire pit before handing it to him. "Bottoms up".
As the bottles half way down he dumps the rest into the fire causing it to grow for a split second.
